Another
great VBS
tradition
is having
the Xenia
Scouts
help with
VBS. The
Xenia Scouts are a group of
collegiate baseball players that take part in the Great Lakes
Summer League. The guys come
from all over the country, but
also from our backyard
(check out a few of the guys
who will be playing Wright
State baseball). We are

Happy Campers
John 8:12
About the Lesson:
Keep the Light
with You!
Reminder of theme verse, John 8:12
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I
am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will
never walk in darkness, but will have the light of
life.’”
It only takes a Spark to get a camper talking.
How do you make a s’more?
Mat, Age 9 Ryan, Age 20 something
Adam, Age 4
Victoria, age 7
You put something on
top, and then in the
middle, and something
on the bottom.
Today, campers were taught the
importance of keeping light with you
when camping. We talked about
how hard it would be to put up your
tent in the dark—definitely something that’s better to do in the
light. But as it gets dark, it’s important to have the light with
you. In life, we need to keep Jesus near us at all times. Psalm
119:105 tells us that, “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light
on my path.” Reading the Bible and memorizing verses helps us
“keep the Light” with us at all times. So no matter what
happens in life, even if it seems dark, we have Jesus, the true
LIGHT with us.
