AKWA IBOM STATE
THROUGH THE OSSAP- MDGs CONDITIONAL GRANT SCHEME (2011-2013)
1. This school was greatly dilapidated and it discouraged the pupils from learning in the school. The sun and the rain affected us greatly. MDGs projects have given the children the opportunity to stay in a very good classroom and the desks supplied have also made them very comfortable. We thank the President and our amiable Governor for this great project they have given to the school and we pray that God remembers them as well.- Mr. John Peter Uma, Head teacher, Qua Iboe Church Primary School, Akpautong, Esit Eket
LGA
2. The school existed with a non-functional toilet facility due to poor availability of water. This project has brought huge relief. We all are very happy in this community and we are all seeing the benefits of the projects that MDGs has given the school. We really appreciate them and God bless ‘my own President’. Why I said my own President is because the effect of his administration has reached my school and we are very grateful for all they are doing.- Mrs. Queen Ofonmbuk Obot Akpan, Head Teacher, Government School, Use Ndon, Ibinno
Ibom LGA
3. The renovation and the supplies given to the PHC have really helped us as the place is now accommodating and the drugs supplied have made it easier to treat patients as they are very affordable to purchase. I really want to appreciate the MDGs for what they have done and for doing what they
said they will do for us. We say a big thank you.- Mrs. Jane Sabastian Bassey, Head Matron, PHC Ididep Ibiono LGA
4. We usually faced a lot of challenges with our women as they didn’t have access to good healthcare in this community, with special emphasis on our pregnant women. But since this PHC was built by MDGs, our women now have access to a place where they can receive good treatment.- Mr. Anietie Edet, Community Member, Okepdi Use, Ibiono LGA
5. The access road here was really bad and people couldn’t come into the PHC previously. We went far distances to receive some drugs from the Operational Base in Uyo. Now the new PHC has made it easier for us because we are supplied with drugs for our patients and no longer have to travel far away. - Mrs. Affiong Ime Dickson, Community Health Extension Worker, Ukana Ikot Ideh, Essien
Udim LGA
6. In the past, we had no access to good water and it was a major issue in this community. The water from this MDGs project is helping us and it has been a great source of relief to us here in the community. I really appreciate Mr. President, the Governor of our dear state and the MDGs for what they have done for us.- Mr. Emem Celestine, Community Member, Atan Ikto Okoro, Essien Udim LGA
7. We usually fetch water from the stream in the past. Now we have a good borehole here in this community. I want to thank the Federal Government for giving us this water.- Daniel Bassey, age 12, Community Member, Eyo-Kpu, Udung Uko LGA
