Warwick Lifestyle IntroductionWarwick Lifestyle has been created to support all student and staff with their wellbeing and to cater for fitness needs. We support all athletes, from the casual user to the more competitive clubs. We aim to promote a healthy lifestyle and support campus with becoming active. We are accessible, supportive and hope to ease the busyness of Warwick life with a fun exercise programme that everyone can find a place in and enjoy.

Over £1 million has been spent on the new Lifestyle Gym, equipping the top floor of the sports centre with machines capable of training every bone and muscle in your body! We are really pleased with the new Kinesis stations which incorporate a pulley system that improves strength, flexibility and balance. There’s also a bespoke trainingapparatus facilitating one on one and group training opportunities.

Chin up barsA strenuous but excellent exercise for strengthening and building muscles in arms and shoulders. The bars are set at different heights to allow both an unassisted lift starting with arms straight and feet off the ground or an assisted lift starting with the feet on the ground and beginning with a jump. Suitable for adults.

Parallel BarsThis classic piece or gym equipment can be used to a variety of exercises,especially push-ups and dips as well as hand walking along its length to buildupper body strength. The truly athletic may want to try more strenuous oradventurous exercises.

Sit up benchesThe sit-up bench can either be used for performing classic sit-ups with the feet hooked underneath the bar, working abdomen and upper thighs or in the reverse position holding the bar with the hands and raising the legs for a different work-out to the same muscle groups.

Plometric BoxesPlyometric boxes are good for short bursts of explosive movement to tome muscles in the legs. You can also perform lateral jumps, step ups, split squats and lunges.

Zig Zag beamsExcellent piece of equipment helping improve your balance and coordination.

Warwick Lifestyle also offers Trim Trail and outdoor gym equipment for all university students and staff to use. You can find these on the

running routes through Cryfield and Claycroft!
