LifeProof debuted at the LAUNCH Conference in February 2011, where it won the award for best product and presentation. To an audience of hundreds of potential investors and media, founder Gary Rayner introduced the LifeProof case for Apple’s iPhone 4 by dropping it, dousing it in ketchup, mustard and dirt, then dunking it in a fish tank. Through it all, the iPhone functioned perfectly.
LifeProof spent 18 months and more than $1.5M to meet stringent environmental objectives while maintaining a sleek design.
