take up a similar project. The two come together for LIFE LONG WORK

WEEK in a Chicago storefront.

NOVEMBER 2011Portland State students take on the project for themselves, Chad Kouri comes from Chicago to encourage them on the journey of making work in a public space.

TIMELINE OF PROMINENT EVENTSThe most commonly asked question during Life Long Work Month was, “What are you doing?”. We were collaborating in a public space. We were critiquing and brainstorming with one another. We were hosting events. We were inviting others inside the gallery. We weren’t limiting ourselves by focusing on one thing or another.

Over the course of the month the group made over two dozen collages. These hung in the gallery window and decorated the gallery. The collages served as a quick creative activity that we could do together and with members of the outside community.
