I’ve been reading Thailand Tatler for about five years. It has so many great articles and sections. I like reading about the people, seeing the nice homes, reading up on restaurants and their recipes. The travel articles are very good. I remember one in particular about Africa that I enjoyed. I usually read economics and news publications, not lifestyle magazines. But Thailand Tatler is so so elegant and enjoyable. I’d like to see even more travel stories. It would also be good to see more stories about people who are successful in life, but aren’t necessarily rich.

Thailand Tatler was probably the first English-language magazine I read growing up and I still read it. The content is interesting; I like all the sections, especially the fashion pages with the beautiful photo shoots. The articles are very well written and the magazine’s layout is easy to read. I don’t like magazines that are too heavy and I think that Thailand Tatler has just the right weight so that I can carry it in my bag and always have it with me. It’s a leading magazine compared with both local and international competitors, but I don’t think you can really compare it to anything because Thailand Tatler is unique.

The Quartier en Rose was EmQuartier’s celebration of romance inspired by roses, the real thing as well as sweets and other foods. Presiding over the opening ceremony was HRH Princess Soamsawali who joined in the charity dinner to raise funds for the Thai Red Cross Society’s national blood centre in honour of HM Queen Sirikit’s 80th birthday. The Quartier Garden on the fifth floor was decorated with red roses from Fa Prathan Farm in Nakhon Nayok. Luckana Naviroj, senior executive vice president of The Mall Group, welcomed Her Royal Highness together with Vivan Karnasuta from co-organiser Maximage and other distinguished guests. Following a gourmet dinner prepared by Dutch Michelin chef Moshik Roth came the highlight, a performance by world-renowned pianist Richard Clayderman.

The Roman jeweller Bulgari impressed its top clients and media from Southeast Asia with its latest high jewellery collection, presented during a weekend getaway at the Ritz Carlton Reserve, Phulay Bay in Krabi. Over 40 of the brand’s top clients were whisked to the exclusive resort for sun, sand, good food and wine, plus lots of spectacular jewellery. A gala dinner saw Jampoon restaurant transformed into a floral oasis where guests dined on a gourmet menu and were entertained by the Hungarian violinist trio, The Princesses of Violin. The evening ended with a fashion showcase featuring the new creations inspired by three inspirations: daring Italian Extravaganza, romantic Mediterranean Eden and mythical Roman Heritage. A sunset pool party the following day wrapped up the festivities on a high note.

The American Express Platinum card celebrated its 16th year in Thailand with an exclusive gala dinner held at The Siam. Anakkawat Kowathanakul, vice president, consumer card of America Express, also used the opportunity to unveil new services and privileges around the globe for cardmembers. In a luxurious ambience, guests viewed an exhibition on the evolution of the American Express card, available in Thailand since 1981. The dinner featured specially selected dishes including those served to King Rama VI during his visit to New York in 1902, with Krissada Sukosol Clapp sharing the details of each speciality. Live classical music from the Trio Band provided the entertainment during the dinner.
