Our team comes from the Illawarra region, which is located on the east coast of NSW, Australia. It is about a one-hour drive south of Sydney. Our region has reason for concern of a lack of first-aid knowledge because the Illawarra:
is backed by an escarpment – bush activities
present a hazardous environment
is home to many pristine beaches with
dangerous elements such as rips, bluebottles,
and sun
is renowned for its “party culture” with the
ensuing dangers of drug and alcohol abuse
Inspiration
L.I.F.E.
Our team recognised the importance of first-aid when a friend of ours was bitten by a
spider on camp.

Interviewing Professor
Jeffrey Rosenfeld
We are looking to engage with
Professor Jeffrey Rosenfeld –
one of Australia’s most
renowned neurosurgeons. He is
encouraging children to be
taught first aid.
We are currently trying to
organize first aid training
for local high schools,
possibly with the Red
Cross or St. John
Ambulance
We are currently organizing
funding from local politicians.
Interest has been shown from
Gareth Ward and Joanna Gash.
