Lieutenant Governor to visit Barrie Toronto, April 7, 2015. The Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will conduct a civic visit to Barrie on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Her Honour said: “As I continue my travels to communities across Ontario, I look forward to engaging in a dialogue with the people of Barrie and their representatives about their concerns and aspirations. This visit, which includes a tour of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, will help me to recognize Ontarians championing medical research and innovation in the healthcare sector.”
Itinerary Wednesday, April 8, 2015
1 p.m. – Civic reception The Lieutenant Governor will be received by Mr. Jeff Lehman, Mayor of Barrie, before proceeding to a civic reception in the company of city councillors and staff. Official photos will be taken and Her Honour will deliver brief remarks. City Hall, 70 Collier Street, Barrie Open to media Media contact: Scott Lamantia, [email protected] 2 p.m. – Roundtable discussion Her Honour will join local leaders and a diverse group of community members for a roundtable discussion on the subject of environmental sustainability. Closed to media 3:30 p.m. – Visit to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Her Honour will greet hospital staff and volunteers at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre before conducting a tour of the building, which will include visits to the cancer centre, green roof, and cardiac care unit.
