Rother DC will expect the age restrictions of the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) or authority designated under Section 4 of the Video Recordings Act 1984 to be complied with. Only in exceptional cases will variations of this general rule be granted by the Council and then only with the appropriate safeguards. (3) If this premises licence includes a condition that at specified times one or more individuals must be at the premises to carry out a security activity (as defined by the Private Security Industry Act 2001) then such individuals must be licensed by the Security Industry Authority.

Annex 2 – Conditions consistent with the operating Schedule

(a) General- all four licensing objectives (b,c,d,e) • Access to the premises by children will be limited and totally excluded after 18:30 each

day. • Smoking on the premises will be regulated while children are allowed in.

(b) The prevention of crime and disorder • Exterior is to be illuminated • Window locks to be fitted to all ground floor windows • Drink/drive posters to be exhibited around the premises to raise awareness • To be a member of the pubwatch scheme with posters exhibited around the premises • Drivers’ non-alcoholic drinks to be well advertised • Drug prevention measures to be employed, especially in the toilet areas • Sussex Police literature on drug awareness and underage drinking to be exhibited

around the premises • No drinks to be left on the premises in an open container

(c) Public safety • Registered First Aider and First Aid facilities to be on site • Full and regular fire risk assessments and all fire appliances regularly checked and

maintained • Key staff to have Basic Food Hygiene Certificate • Signage to be displayed at entrance of premises offering assistance to disabled patrons • Premises to be regularly reviewed for compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act

and any reasonable steps taken to ensure compliance • All areas of the premises not visible from the bar to be regularly monitored by members

of staff

(d) The prevention of public nuisance • Signage to be displayed advertising local taxi firms and patrons can call a taxi free of

charge if required. • Signs to be displayed on doors requesting patrons to leave quietly and orderly • Any cooling equipment to be sited either at the rear of the premises and away from

the adjoining premises • Lobby area at entrance to reduce noise • Front door to be fitted with self closing device and be kept closed during

performances

(e) The protection of children from harm • Access to the premises by children will be limited and totally excluded after 18:30

each day. • No unaccompanied children allowed on the premises • Children must be accompanied by a relative over the age of 21 years • Children only permitted in the restaurant area at the rear of the premises during

permitted hours • Restaurant areas to be designated non-smoking areas • Cigarette machine situated in full view of the bar and in areas not open to children • House has a wide selection of soft drinks suitable for children • All areas of the premises not visible from the bar to be regularly monitored by

members of staff

Annex 3 – Conditions attached after a hearing by the licensing authority

A notice shall be displayed in and at the entrance to the premises where they can be clearly seen and read and shall indicate that it is unlawful for persons under 18 to purchase alcohol or for any person to purchase alcohol on behalf of a person under 18 years of age. Noise or vibration shall not emanate from the premises so as to cause a nuisance to the occupants of nearby properties.

All doors and windows shall be kept closed, except for the immediate access and egress of the public and staff, whilst regulated entertainment is in progress and adequate mechanical ventilation shall be provided.
