Concept of License Activation/Deactivation

License key can be used only for the designated amount of device/server. License server will check it and grant the installation. So, hardware unique key(id) need to be transferred license server(SLM).

When target device/server is internet connected, most of the process can be automatic. (Online activation)

[Embedded] Online Activation

1. Login to Syncthru Web Service as admin (Enter the IP address of the device into a web browser.)

2. Go to Maintenance > Application Management > License

3. Go to License Server and be sure “License Server Address” to http://v3.samsunggsbn.com and “SSL” to unchecked

4. Select application to activate in the list and click “Activate” button

5. Select “Online”.

6. Input your License Key and required information to register and click “OK” to start activation.

If online activation failed(e.g. internet connection issue), please proceed with Offline

Activation.

[Embedded] Offline Activation (Step 1)

1. Go to Syncthru Web Service (Enter the IP address of the device into a web browser.) and copy (Machine) Serial Number (Hardware Unique Key)

Or, Serial Number is also available in back side label of device. But, be careful of error while write down.

* Length of Serial Number is 15 characters.

2. Go to SLM web site to generate

Activation Key. Alternatively, send the “Hardware Unique Key” and License Key to sales agency to get Activation Key (skip Step 2)

Get “Hardware Unique Key” from installed S/W.

6. [SLM] Go to SLM web site > Activation > Request Activation. Then, input License Key and search. 7. *SLM+ Input “Hardware Unique Key” field and specify appropriate Site Information fields.

8. *SLM+ Click “Activate” Button in SLM and then copy the generated Activation Key.

Apply “Activation Key” to installed S/W.

10. Login to Syncthru Web Service as admin (Enter the IP address of the device into a web browser.)

11. Go to Maintenance >

Application Management > License

12. Select application to activate

and then click “Activate” button 13. Select “Offline” and input

License Number(Key) and Activation Key

14. Click “OK”

[Embedded] Deactivation

1. Login to Syncthru Web Service as admin (Enter the IP address of the device into a web browser.)

2. Go to Maintenance > Application Management > License

3. Go to license server and be sure “License Server Address” to http://v3.samsunggsbn.com and “SSL” to unchecked.

4. Select application to activate in the list and click “Return” button. Click “Yes” to confirm.

If return failed (e.g. internet connection issue), copy this Deactivation(return) Request Key and proceed

with “*Embedded] Deactivation – Offline” (next page)

When online deactivation is not available, Copy Deactivation Key from installed S/W and register it to SLM manually to finish deactivation process.

4.1. [SLM] Go to SLM web site > Activation > De-activation, input the Deactivation Key and Execute. Alternatively, send the “Deactivation Key” to sales agency.

2. Be sure “License Server Address” to http://v3.samsunggsbn.com

3. Input your License Key (number)

4. Click “Online Activation” button.

[STWF3] Offline Activation (Step 1)

1. Log into SmarThru Workflow as admin and go to “License”.

2. Enter your License Key(number).

3. Click “Offline Activation” button.

4. Get “Hardware Unique Key”. It is a left part of “=“ in Activation request key field or “Hardware Unique Key” value if it is displayed in UI.

* Length of Hardware Unique Key is 15 characters.

5. Go to SLM web site. Alternatively, send the “Hardware Unique Key” and License Key to sales agency to get Activation Key (skip Step 2 in this case)

2. Click “Activate” (icon) button.

3. Copy License Key into “License Number” of the SecuThru Server in the appropriate field and press “Activate”. (License Activation Mode: Online)

* SecuThru Device License should be applied in the same way.

5. [SLM] Go to SLM web site > Activation > Request Activation and input License Key and search

6. *SLM+ Copy “Hardware Id” into “Hardware Unique Key” field and specify appropriate Site Information fields.

7. *SLM+ Click “Activate” Button in SLM and then copy the generated Activation Key.

SecuThru – Offline Activation (Step 3)

8. Go to License Activation dialog of SecuThru. (License Activation Mode: Offline) 9. Copy License Key into “License Number” field in SecuThru License Activation dialog and Activation Key into “License Activation Key” field.

10. Click to “Activate” button.

* SecuThru Device License should be applied in the same way.

Apply the Activation Key to installed S/W.

1. Ensure that License Server settings are specified correctly.

2. Go to System->License Management settings page.

3. Select License which should be returned.

4. Click “Return” button.

5. In opened “License Return” dialog ensure that “Online” License Return Mode is selected.

6. Press “Return” button.

9. Go to “Device > Management History > Application Management History” and verify if activation task succeeded .

If activation failed with this error, proceed with Offline Activation.

Offline Activation for Multiple Devices

Using tool (STA, SyncThru Admin6), collect Hardware Unique Keys from devices and generate file.

Then, get activation key file in SLM web page and activate with the activation file.
