Kara’s Flowers. It featured
Levine and three of his
classmates. The band
first performed at a
school dance. Levine
was so shy he played guitar with his
back to the audience.
Levine studied music at a
performing arts college in
New York. He learned different
styles, such as R&B and
hip-hop. He eventually moved
back to California and started the
band Maroon 5.
Maroon 5 won the 2004 Grammy
Award for Best New Artist. Levine
writes many of their songs. He is
known for his smooth voice. He can
sing a wide range of notes. In 2011,
Levine became a singing judge and
coach on the TV show The Voice.
