Event spaces are available at all Southern Cross University campus libraries for staff, students and the local community to use for gatherings, to share ideas, values and artistic expression. The spaces and library facilities are available for exhibitions and displays.
Details of each space are listed below, including measurements (in centimetres, Length x Width) and availability of equipment and facilities.
Coffs Harbour
Gallery Wall 1: 200cm x 340cm
Coffs Harbour Education Campus is a diverse and vibrant campus where Senior College, TAFE NSW and Southern Cross University students study and work together. This library is used by campus students and the community. It has two spaces available for events:
Level 1 - Gallery Walls & Gallery Walk (under stairs)Level 1 - Digital Display
The library has mobile tables of various sizes perfect for displaying items such as sculptures.

The new and exciting Gold Coast campus library is located in Building C, Level 1 within the university precint beside the Gold Coast Airport at Bilinga. It has the following spaces available for events:

The Gallery Walk and Flexible Learning Zone is a student space. It can be booked for University wide events but is not available as an alternative classroom or staff meeting room. It is open at all times for students to use unless booked for a university wide event or special function, such as exhibitions of student works or community book launches etc.

Flexible Learning Zone(Room No: LC-C1.34)
The Flexible Learning Zone is located on Level 1, near the Gallery Walk. It can be booked for University wide events but is not available as an alternative classroom or staff meeting room. It is open at all times for students to use unless booked for a university wide event or special function, such as exhibitions of student works or community book launches etc.
The room has 10 tables and 37 chairs (as seen in the photo above). There is a computer, video projector, 2 whiteboards. Any visitors needing use of the projector should supply their own usb or laptop. Hearing assistance available.

LismoreThe Lismore campus library is located in the main plaza of the university. This architectural designed library features a Gallery Walk on its ground level. The Gallery Walk links pedestrian flows from the north and south of campus. It is also a central point for access to the library’s 2nd and 3rd levels. The Gallery Walk is purpose-de-signed space for exhibitions, book launches, displays and performance.
There are no walls in this space but offers 8 double sided, movable panels which interlock with each other. Each panel measures 180cm high x 90cm wide. Each panel contains art tracking with hangers.

Manning Clark Room(Room No: LC1.26 and ext. 73183)
The Manning Clark Room is named in honour of the Australian historian, Manning Clark. His collection of books, which he donated to the library in 1991, is on display in the room. Mr Clark officially opened the first university library building in Lismore in 1987. He also launched and supported an appeal for funds to repair valuable books within the library’s collection as well as hosting an award winning radio series, Manning Clark’s Australia, a program produced by the then Learning and Information Centre, of which the library was a part.
The Manning Clark Room also houses examples of Southern Cross University Artists’ Book Collection.
The Manning Clark Room is also a student space. It can be booked for University wide events but is not availalbe as an alternative classroom or staff meeting room. It is open at all times for students to use unless booked for a university wide event or special function, such as exhibitions of student works or community book launches etc.
The room has 10 tables and 35 chairs (as seen in the photo above). There is a lectern, video projector, small kitchenette and electronic Smartboard. Sound is generated through a laptop or microphone connected to the speakers in the ceiling. Any visitors needing use of the projector should supply their own usb or laptop. The Terrace area outside is accessible via the Manning Clark Room.
