WelcomeI’m delighted to welcome you to the Liberties College Media Graduate Show.
These productions are some of the very best work to come out of the College in recent years and showcases the range of talent and creativity bubbling forth from all our Higher National Diploma students.
In these tough times, it is indeed brave to choose a career path into the Arts but I know that we’re witnessing here the beginnings of some very long and very rewarding careers. All they need is a bit of luck - so we hope that the God’s smile on them.

This is a supernatural thriller in which a man struggles to escape his pact with the devil. On the morning of his 44th birthday the man is compelled to appear before the demon with payment for the second life he has enjoyed – what is the price? CrossfireCrossfire is a film about two different types of love, the love for a sister and the love for that someone special in your life. The two different types of love meet face to face in a stand off that we see in full blast as the story reveals itself through flashbacks in this gangster thriller.

Sweet SorrowThe last eighteen years of Kathy’s life have been devoted to her daughters happy upbringing and now that Lara has been accepted to college, she has a choice to make. Stay in her mundane daily routine of looking after her oblivious husband Jon, awaiting each day until her daughter visits once a month from college. Or take a risk and start a fresh. Will she make the right choice?

Reliving InvictusReliving Invictus is a radio documentary about the 1995 Rugby World Cup in which South Africa was allowed to compete internationally for the first time as a free and democratic country. South Africa went on to win the World Cup despite the odds against them, coinciding with the release of the movie ‘Invictus’ this documentary pays tribute to that pivotal sporting event that changed South African history and the psychology of a nation.

From Joe With LoveJoseph Plunkett was executed on 4th May 1916 for his part in the 1916 rising, hours beforehand he married his sweetheart Grace Gifford in the chapel in Kilmainham Jail. ‘From Joe with Love’ tells the couples love story through the numerous letters Joe sent to Grace.

The Other SideWhen the brain flat lines and the heart stops beating does something live on? Many of us question whether there is life after death. ‘The Other Side’ is a documentary which investigates whether we continue on to a more spiritual plane. We hear from adamant believers that this world is not the final destination.

ExchangeThis documentary focuses on ‘Exchange’, an independent,non commercial space and its volunteers, as they attempt to give people a place to express themselves in these times of depression. The documentary goes through the brief history of the space and the foundations they have laid and their attempts to change the canvas of Dublin as a city. It gives an insight in to the day to day running of the space and the politics involved in a collective arts space.

SalsaSalsa in recent years has taken Ireland by storm. Salsa classes are on everyday of the week all over the country. Ross and Henri took part in a lesson to find out what are the positives of this dance from Latin America and talked to the people behind the salsa movement in Ireland.
