1. The bookcase shown opposite is made from wooden boards of thickness 14cm.

If the clearance height between each shelf is 218cm, calculate the total height, h, of the bookcase.

2. Susan wants to put some decorative wooden edging around a small rectangular vegetablepatch she has in her garden.

Her rectangular vegetable patch measures 37 metres by 86 centimetres.

She buys 95 metres of edging.

(a) Is this enough edging to surround her vegetable patch? (you must show suitable working)

5. A school prints its own yearly newsletter just before xmas.
