Article written by: The Office of Sheriff KoonThe recent rain and flooding was unlike anything we’ve ever seen in South Carolina. But, the way the people of Lexington County came together and rallied as one is something we’ve seen before. In times of tragedy and challenge, our community knows how to take care of each other.

We saw it throughout the flood and its aftermath. Countless donations poured into the Lexington County Emergency Operations Center for citizens and first responders. Civic organizations, Scout troops and church groups moved into action when flood-affected residents and emergency workers needed them the most.

Let’s remember that as we continue the recovery process. It will take a lot of time and much more work, but with our arms around each other, we as a community will be stronger and Lexington County will be better than ever.
