TOURSAfternoon area tours will be led by key council representatives, with contributions from developers, architects and stakeholders.

All delegates can pick one tour from the options below – your delegate badge will indicate which tour you have been allocated to. If you have not been allocated a tour but would like to go on one, please contact staff at the reception desk.

Tour groups will leave at 16:30. Please take your coats and bags with you as we will not be returning to the venue.

This tour will first stop off at Number One Creekside before exploring the transformation of Deptford, including the High Street and Market Yard, before heading to New Cross Gate to hear about the plans for this new hub.

Covering key sites such as Milford Towers, Laurence House, the Town Hall and Civic Centre, and Plassy Island, this tour will provide an overview of Catford’s opportunities, before heading to PLACE Ladywell to look at the transformative scheme by RSHP and AECOM.

Focusing on the developments currently shaping Lewisham’s growing town centre, this tour will start with an update on Lewisham Gateway before exploring key public realm improvements, including Cornmill Gardens, as well as the Lewisham Station interchange. We will also look at new local amenities such as the leisure centre and visit the new Barratt scheme, Renaissance, where there is an innovative approach to local power supply.

Debbie Jackson

Assistant Director of Regeneration, Greater London Authority

Debbie has responsibility for delivering high quality and targeted regeneration programmes with a range of partners to maximise cultural, economic, social and environmental benefits, leverage and impact. These in turn act as catalysts for London’s continued growth and as exemplars for regeneration practice across the capital. Debbie’s responsibilities include the delivery of a number of high-profile Mayoral programmes including the Good Growth Fund, Crowdfund London, Skills for Londoners Capital Fund and Good Growth by Design. Debbie has twenty years’ experience in London’s public sector across environment and regeneration roles, having worked for Westminster and Lambeth Councils and the London Development Agency before joining the GLA in 2011. @LDN_gov

Jeff Endean Housing Strategy and Programmes Manager, LB Lewisham

Jeff leads the Housing Strategy and Programmes Team at Lewisham Council in commissioning development programmes to meet housing needs. This work has included enabling a range of innovative and award-winning approaches to construction and off-site manufacture, and to enabling community-led development, as part of Lewisham’s wider “New Homes, Better Places” programme. This programme is building the Council’s first new homes for a generation, and will have started 500 homes on small sites by the end of 2018. @LewishamCouncil

Catriona Boulton Director of Estates and Facilities - Goldsmiths, University of London

Catriona is a Chartered Architect with interior and landscape experience and has worked for over 25 years in private practice before moving to the HE Sector. Previous projects included the Headquarters of the Crown Estate Commissioners, projects at various Oxbridge Colleges, the Maughan Library for Kings College London and teaching facilities for the College of Law. She joined Goldsmiths, University of London in 2009 as Head of Capital Projects and has been in her current role since October 2012. @GoldsmithsUoL

Chris Fletcher

Development Director, Grainger

A member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Chris joined Grainger in July 2011 following 6 years at a major, international architect’s practice. Having worked on many high profile, complex schemes in the UK and Australia, Chris specialises in the planning and delivery of high value projects. Since joining Grainger, Chris has procured and delivered approximately £175m of construction; across various residential typologies ranging from low to high density, strategic sites and tall buildings. Beyond his involvement at a project level, Chris is a member of Grainger’s Sustainability, Health & Safety and Development Boards. @graingerplc

Andy Collyer

Business Development Director, ENGIE

Andy has over 25 years’ experience. Beginning as a trainee QS, Andy is now a business development professional. He has recently joined ENGIE as Business Development Director, and intends to help ENGIE grow by developing strong partnerships and relationships with clients. @ENGIEgroup

Sir Steve Bullock Mayor, LB Lewisham

Sir Steve was elected as Lewisham’s first directly-elected mayor in 2002. He was elected for a fourth term in May 2014. He serves as Deputy Leader of the Labour Group at the Local Government Association (LGA) and is Chair of the Commercial Board. He was elected to the London Councils’ executive committee in June 2010 leading on housing, and has acted as Vice-Chair of the Homes for London Board since 2012. Sir Steve is also Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board, which brings organisations from the statutory and community sectors address the borough’s health needs. He is a former Chair of the Association of London Authorities. @LewishamCouncil

Mike Saunders

Founder, Commonplace

Mike founded Commonplace to realise a vision of better places through engagement and collaboration, which he originally put forward at TEDx Parliament. Commonplace has gone from strength to strength, with over 200 projects for over 100 customers including HS2 and Highways England, councils such as Waltham Forest and Lewisham, Newcastle, Bristol and Norwich; developers such as Grosvenor and Grainger, and housing associations Clarion and Peabody. Mike is by background a digital engagement expert, and has previously developed technology businesses across media, public and commercial sectors. @Cmnplace

Holly Lewis

Co-founding Partner, We Made That

Holly is a registered architect who co-founded We Made That in 2006. We Made That is an architecture and urbanism practice with a strong public conscience. Holly has led a unique range of urban projects for the practice, from pioneering industrial intensification work through to comprehensive high street regeneration projects. Holly also leads the research portfolio of the practice, which has included studies of local economies and placemaking across London. She is a Mayor’s Design Advocate for the GLA and a CABE Built Environment Expert. @we_made_that

Emma Talbot

Head of Planning, LB Lewisham

Emma leads on the operation of Lewisham’s planning functions, promoting and coordinating development focused on strategic placemaking, to promote the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the borough’s residents. Emma has been with the Council for over 14 years, leading on the most significant development and regeneration projects. @LewishamCouncil

Andrew Partridge

Senior Associate, RSHP

Andrew’s work investigating how modern methods of manufacture can be used in housing and school design, was demonstrated in the Design for Manufacture competition. This system of volumetric, off-site manufacture has since been deployed at Y:Cube in Mitcham London, providing one bed studios for young people unable to afford private rent; and most recently at PLACE/Ladywell Lewisham, where urban brownfield land is being utilized to provide 24 homes for local families in housing need. Currently, Andrew is working on the development of similar flexible housing schemes in Lewisham and the UK. @RSHParchitects

Peter Murray Chairman, New London Architecture (NLA)

Peter was editor of Building Design and RIBA Journal before starting Blueprint Magazine in 1983. He is President of Wordsearch, the global communications and design consultancy. He has curated many architectural exhibitions at the Royal Academy as well as exhibitions held at NLA. He is founder of the London Festival of Architecture and is author of various architectural books. He is a Past Master of The Architects’ Company, a visiting professor at IE University in Madrid, Chairman of The London Society and a keen cyclist. @pgsmurray

Sophie Lau

Head of Sales & Marketing Fizzy Living

Sophie is responsible for developing and delivering the overall letting and marketing strategy with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and innovation. Prior to Fizzy, Sophie worked in PR and Digital Marketing. Fizzy Living is a residential property company offering good quality rented accommodation in easily commutable locations across London and the South East. Fizzy now has almost 700 flats under management across seven schemes and a further 292 under construction. Fizzy’s funding partner is the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. @fizzyliving

Mark Thornhill

Operations Manager, ENGIE

Mark has worked in the industry for his entire career in both the private and public sectors. He began as a chippy and then progressed into site management, and is now Operations Manager for ENGIE, managing a number of their sites across London, including Excalibur. @ENGIEgroup

Winning schemes will be announced on 4 July at NLA’s Annual Lunch at The Guildhall, attended by over 700 leading professionals and London policy makers.
