Standard Changes for NOx
June 7th 2017 ROUSH CleanTech announces achievement of very low NOx with the 6.8L V10 Engine.
For the 2017 MY RCT LPG Blue Bird Buses are now certified to 0.05 g/bhp-hr NOx.
This is achieved with no extra hardware or increased variable cost.
The low NOx levels were achieved through careful, significant calibration changes and a CSSR (cold start spark retard) approach.

Under this bill, the credit would be $0.50/gasoline gallon equivalent (gge) of propane for 2017 and 2018. This is the same amount for the credit as 2016. In 2019, the alternative fuel tax credit would reduce to $0.375/gge, which is 75 percent of the original credit. In 2020 and 2021, the credit would again reduce, this time to 50 percent of the original credit, to $0.25/gge.

EPA: Volkswagen used illegal software to modify the performance of the emissions control system during emission testing– Investigation revealed that in-use NOx emissions were 10-40 times
greater than the standard
Volkswagen was found guilty and agreed to spend up to $14.925 billion to settle allegations of cheating emissions
Settlement funds will be used to buy back and / or modify vehicles, and to support national- and state-level projects to reduce NOx emissions.

Volkswagen must contribute $2.925 billion to the Environmental Mitigation Trust (EMT)– The purpose of this trust is to fund actions that reduce NOx emissions
Each state receives a set amount based on number of affected vehicles sold in the state
Eligible projects include:– Class 4-8 school bus, shuttle bus or transit bus replacement– Class 4-7 medium duty truck replacement– Class 8 freight and drayage (port) trucks– Airport ground service equipment (electric only)– Forklifts (electric only)
