Level 3 Pearson BTEC Extended Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Programme Description The programme is aimed at equipping the trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skills that will enable them to become competitive, effective, and productive workforce of the mechanical engineering industry. Programme Objectives Develop the technical skills of trainees applicable in the field of mechanical engineering Develop problem solving skills and ability to work with minimum supervision. Enhance the essential aspects of traineescommunication and interpersonal skills and awareness of environmental health and work place safety Instill professionalism and ethical values needed in the work area. Enrich trainees’ ability to work with a team Duration: 2 years (four semesters) of full time study Awarding Body: Pearson/Edexcel Assessment Varied methods are used to assess trainee's progress including quizzes, assignment, project as well as practical and written exams. On-the-Job Training To ensure that trainees gain experience related to their field of study, they are required to complete the OJT programme in one of the private or government partners of BTI. Qualification Certificates Upon the completion of the requirements of the programme, a trainee shall receive certificates from Pearson and Bahrain Training Institute. Career Options The trainee can apply for the following job opportunities: Repair and Maintenance Technician Operation technician • Machinist • Technical Sales Technician • Design Technician
