    THE BRIEF

    It is important to have an understanding of the industry that you intend to work in and the different roles within that industry. It is imperative to develop an idea of how to identify opportunities for employment and career progressions. Through discussion sessions and research you should write about a musical organization that interests you and how it relates to other areas of the music industry (Unit 1 GC1). Here are some examples; Record companies and recording studios Record companies and publishing companies Live Promotion and Artist management Record companies and Artist management You should then provide an explanation of two job roles from the music industry, one performance and one other, and how they relate to other roles in the industry (Unit 1 GC,2,3) using examples, such as; Session player and Producer Recording artist and songwriters Manager and artist Promoter and live artist Using this information you will create a professional development plan that charts your skill development and sets targets for a career in the music industry and also explains what training and experience you will need to achieve these targets (Unit 2 GC1,2,3)
