CoreyThomastonentershisfifthseasonastheLeTourneauUniversityheadwomen’sbasketballcoach.

Thomaston is the fourth head coach in theprogram’shistory.

Previously, he has served as an assistant coachfortheNCAADivisionIRadfordUni-versity women’s basketball program from2002-07.Hewasakeycomponentishelpingturn the Radford program around and reach-ing the Big South Championship game for thefirsttimein11seasons.

Thomaston assumed many different roles at Radford working under head coach JeriPorter.Hebeganasarecruitingdirectorwho worked with the guards and continued to addmore duties. He assisted with the introduction ofJeriPorter’s‘NextLevel’basketballcampandbegantore-establishRadford’salumnibase. In2005-06,hestarted to

Corey Thomaston, Head Women’s Basketball Coachwork with the post players and he has had three different players earn All-Conferencerecognition and a Defensive Player of theYearhonor.Hispostplayershavecontinuallyranked in the top five in the conference inmostkeystatistics.

Before coaching at Radford, Thomaston served as an assistant coach at the Univer-sity ofNorth Alabama for two years underPorter.

Thomaston graduated from UNA in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commu-nications and then continued his education earning a Master of Arts degree in Health andPhysicalEducationfromUNAin2002.

Thomaston teaches in the Kinesiology department.Heandhiswife,Bevin,resideinLongviewwiththeir5-yearoldson,CooperandtheirdaughterEllie,whowasborninDecember,2010.

Markeith Brown enters his third seasonasheadwomen’scrosscoun-trycoachandassistantwomen’sbas-ketballcoachatLeTourneau.

Brown spent his collegiate years at East Central Community College and later at Nicholls State University in Thibodeaux, La., from which hegraduatedin2004.

After college, he became theheadfreshmanboysbasketballcoachand assistant varsity coach at Central LafourcheHighSchool inRaceland, La.Hisduties includestrength training, fund-raising and developed all practiceplansfrom2004-06.

AfterleavingCentralLafourche,Brownbecametheheadboysbasketball coach atVermillionCatholicHigh School,whichcapturedtheBi-DistrictChampionshipandwereRe-gionalFinalistsduringthe2006-07season.

Fortheteam’saccomplishment,BrownwasnamedVer-millionParishCoachoftheYear.Healsowastheheadcrosscountrycoachandgirlstrackcoachforayear.

As the head cross country coach at LeTourneau, Brown hascoachedoneAll-AmericanSouthwestConferenceath-lete(NicoleLeman)andfiveacademicall-conferencehon-orees.

Brownandhiswife, Julie, live in Longview. Theyhavetwodaughters,JaydaandMia.

AlanWiederholdisinhissecondseasonasLeTourneau’ssportsinfor-mationdirector.

Since arriving at LeTourneau, Wiederholdhasestablishedhimselfas one of the most versatile and en-ergeticSIDsintheAmericanSouth-west Conference, having worked postseason events in softball andsoccer, as well as the ASC’s cross-over weekends in both volleyballandsoftball.

Wiederholdservedasagraduateassistantintheath-leticmediarelationsdepartmentatDeltaStateUniversityinCleveland,Miss.duringthe2009-10academicyear,act-ingastheprimarycontactforthemen’sandwomen’ssoc-cerandbasketballteams.

Prior to moving to Mississippi, Wiederhold servedtwoyearsastheDirectorofBasketballMediaRelationsatHuston-TillotsonUniversity,ahistoricallyblackcollege inAustinthatcompetesintheRedRiverAthleticConference.Hecombined that rolewith fulltimedutiesas the sportseditor at the Seguin Gazette Enterprise newspaper during the2008-2009academicyear.
