letter to schools re recitals - roman river...

Dear Heads of Music, I am very excited to announce a fantastic programme of school recitals again this September. Once again we are offering world-class musicians in your own school at a time to suit you. In addition to classical cello and violin music, we have a Spanish soprano and guitar, which we thought would be particularly appealing. This could be of interest to students of Spanish as well as music. We also have a guitar and drum duo who play latin/jazz/funk. There will be an opportunity after the performances for Q&A. I do hope you will take the opportunity to see what we have below, and check out the links to the artists. Please let me know what you would be interested in, and I will do my best to accommodate you. First come, first served! Best wishes Julie Cuthbert Trustee Roman River Music 07946 476336 / [email protected] The cost of putting on a Roman River Music school recital can be up to £1,000 in artists fees and other expenses, some but not all of which are covered by our grants. In order to ensure our education programme is sustainable in the longer term, we ask for a contribution of £250 per recital, equivalent to approximately 25% of the costs. We are keen to stress however that this charge is by no means intended to make the events exclusive - our aim to give every child in North Essex access to professional quality music making has not changed - so in the event that you are challenged to raise these funds please speak to us about our discretionary bursaries.
