Prayer Meeting and Parents’ Awareness Morning (8am on Saturday 4th March 2017) Please note that the Parents’ Awareness Morning will now commence at 8am on Saturday 4th March 2017. International Mother Language Day Tuesday 21st February 2017 was International Mother Language Day. We thank Mrs Ayoola-Johnson for teaching our Year 7 students. They learnt many Yoruba words and discovered how traditional marriages are conducted in Yorubaland. It was great fun!

Parents’ Evenings We discussed the outcomes of Assessment Week 1, our children’s progress and other matters during the Parents’ Evenings (Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd February 2017). Thank you for taking part in your child’s development.

Shouts of Praise This month’s Shouts of Praise was awesome! We sang and danced joyfully together, giving praises to God for his goodness to our college. We thank the parents who attended the event. We look forward to next month’s event.

Assessment Week 2 (Years 7 to 10) Please note that the next set of assessments will take place between Monday 6th and Friday 10th March 2017. The assessments (tests, quizzes, presentations etc) will form 20% of your child’s result for the term. Preparations should never be left until the week of the assessments.

Mock IGCSE Examinations (Year 11 students) The Cambridge IGCSE examinations will commence on Thursday 6th April 2017. Year 11 students will sit mock IGCSE examinations between Thursday 9th and Friday 17th March 2017. SAT assessments Secondary school students who plan to study at a university in the United States are advised to take the Preliminary SAT (PSAT) assessments. The PSAT 8/9 and PSAT 10 assessments are taken during the secondary school years (from Year 8). They test the same skills and knowledge as the SAT. They are therefore useful diagnostic tools. Information can be obtained from https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org. For advice regarding preparation, email [email protected]. Keep your gadgets at home…no excuses Please ensure that your child does not bring any gadget (e.g. mobile phone, tablet PC, laptop, camera or video game) into the college or bus. Such items will be confiscated and donated to charity. Edgewood College and its buses are gadget-free zones.
