The Doxology…………….……..……..……………………………………………...…………….….AME Hymnal #647 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below;

Praise Him above ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

The Call to Worship

Minister: I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord!” Our feet have

been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem! (Psalm 122:1-2)

People: For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in

the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. (Psalm 84:10)

Minister: For the sake of the house of the Lord our God; I will seek your good. (Psalm 122:9)

People: They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God.

Minister: O Lord, I love the habitation of your house, and the place where your glory dwells.

People: But the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him. (Habakkuk 2:20)

Minister: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight,

O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)

People: O sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! I will sing of loyalty and

of justice, to you, O Lord, I will sing. (Psalm 98:1,4)

The Hymn of Praise……………….………………………………...AME Hymnal #559— Rise Up O Men of God

1. Rise up, O men of God! Have done with lesser things; Give heart and mind and soul and strength To serve the King of kings.

2. Rise up, O men of God! His kingdom tarries long; Bring in the day of brotherhood And end the night of wrong.

3. Lift high the cross of Christ! Tread where His feet have trod; As brothers of the Son of Man, Rise up, O men of God!

The Responsive Scripture ………………….……………….………………………..……..……..……Romans 6:1b-8 Minister:

1b Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound?

People: 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it?

Minister: 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his

death?

People: 4 Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from

the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in the newness of life.

The Responsive Scripture (Continued)……………..………………………………………………………….....….……Romans 6:1b-8 Minister:

5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a

resurrection like his. People:

6 We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we

might no longer be enslaved to sin. Minister:

7 For whoever has died is freed from sin.
