Let My People Go USPG is a Christian charity which is over 300 years old. We work with the

church all over the world to help children and their families to get a good

This little boy lives in India with his parents.

Both his parents work really long hours for

very little money. They often have to borrow

money from their boss to buy food. They

haven’t got the money to pay their boss back

and they cannot change to a better job

because they owe so much money.

Their boss has had an idea. What if this child

left school and started to work for him too.

The money the boy earns could pay back the

loans.

What could his parents do?

Baljinder is his mum. She worked with the church of North

India to learn a new skill - processing date palm fruit. She

was able to pay off the family debt and save enough to buy

a rickshaw to start a taxi service.

Now the children can all stay in school, the family earn

their own money and they have a much better life together.
