Churches of Christ believe strongly in

having divine authority (a scripture)

for all we teach and practice.

“Whatsoever” and “all” are comprehensive

words. To do a thing “in Jesus’ name”

means to do it by His authority.

Singing, however, is mentioned seven

times in the contest of worship.
