Overall lesson aims:
1. Understand historiography
2. Understand that history can always be written from another point of view
3. Evaluate/analyses parody elements
Intended outcomes (knowledge, skills & values):
1. Students examine the impact of European colonization of Australia, including the representation
of that settlement as invasion.
2. Students become aware of the importance of historiography and that there are competing
interpretations and contested narratives in history. They recognize the significance of different
events within an historical context and learn how evidence and values produce different
interpretations of events, people and institutions.
3. They critically evaluate sources of evidence for context, information, reliability, completeness,
objectivity and bias. They recognise that in history there are multiple perspectives and partial
explanations
Techniques to evaluate students’ achievement of intended outcomes:
1. Level of participation and engagement by the students in activities
2. Input and knowledge/skills demonstrated during
3. Completion of set work
4. Behavior in class

of historical POV and also the parody aspect of the
