Welcome Welcome Welcome

While preparing the bulletin column, I realized I am celebrating

my one year anniversary this weekend here at St. Patrick’s. I want

to thank all St. Patrick’s staff, music ministry members and congre-

gation for being so welcoming over the last year.

One of the new additions over the last year is the 5pm Mass. This Mass

introduces St. Patrick’s to contemporary Christian music heard on the radio. Drums, guitars and solo instru-

ments add to the Mass along with the piano. If there are any teens who play instruments or would like to par-

ticipate in the 5pm Mass, please talk to Chris after a 5pm Mass. Rehearsals take place before 5pm Mass reg-

ularly.

The 10am Contemporary Ensemble is always looking for new members to join. If you like singing, playing

an instrument and want to be apart of this mass, please see Kiel or Lisa Stewart after a 10am mass. The

Contemporary Ensemble sings in harmony/voice parts. Contemporary Ensemble rehearsals are the second

and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7pm in the main church.

New cantors are always welcome to join the ministry too. Cantor are soloists who lead mass at the 4:30pm

and 8am usually. Cantors rehearse on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7pm in the main church.

For members of the St. Patrick’s community who would like a lighter/smaller time commitment schedule,

Christmas time is approaching. New singers are welcome to join in singing our well known Christmas carols.

The Christmas rehearsal schedule will be in my next bulletin article.

Reflections:

The Benefits of Eucharistic Adoration (from one of the three talks in a series given before Mass):

I was deeply moved by a poster in an Adoration Chapel that read JESUS WAITS FOR

YOU. For me it was accepting a personal invitation from a treasured friend. Adoration became

a time to nurture my relationship with Jesus, and for the Holy Spirit to lift prayer to a different

level. It’s like Divine medicine. God’s love is so overwhelming. One author describes God’s

love as “ inexhaustible, unreasonable, unimaginable, extravagant, insane and furious longing of God for our

intimacy with Him.” Returning some of God’s love by praising and thanking Him Face to face is joyful time. I

leave adoration feeling refreshed, strengthened, peaceful and grateful. It takes time to settle into inner si-

lence, but with regular visits, the Spiritual benefits are felt.

Our days are filled with busyness and challenges. At Adoration we can give it all to God to handle. Let it

go and put our trust in the only one who can meet our needs. Jesus is always inviting our yes. We have the

opportunity and awesome privilege each Wednesday, from 3-7 PM to enter into God’s rest and glorify Him in

Eucharistic Adoration. Like the Sunday Bulletin says, “Stop in and say a prayer. You will be glad you did.”

Come for an hour, half hour or short visit. You can’t out give God. JESUS WAITS FOR YOU.

SPin Action is our Parish Mission open to everyone that is called to serve the local needy. It consists of both youth and adults that help people grow in their commitment to service using the gifts that each one of us has received

from God. Our mission is to provide St. Patrick’s community with the opportunity to serve those in need and to hear the ways God has called us to live out the Gospel. Through action we seek to help the elderly, the poor, the weak, the lonely, the disabled, and those in our parish who need assistance. John 21 Community Garden Hello everyone, I just wanted to give everyone an update for the John 21 Com-munity Garden. Today, we harvested over 26 pounds of produce. This brought our total harvest for the season to 201.5 pounds thus far with much more to come.

Every week, the individuals who at-tend the J21 breakfast are very pleased to receive fresh, organic pro-duce! In fact, they often form a line to get the items. Each week everything is taken and not a thing has been left

behind, from peppermint and basil to green beans and spinach. Thank you for all of your efforts to support this great program! Last year, we harvested 67 pounds in total so we have already harvested 3 times the amount as last year! - Ray Kane
