I was born in Spartanburg, SC.

My parents emphasized the importance of education so I wouldn’t end up like some of my relatives:

I attended district 7 schools.

I went to Wofford College

I majored in biology

and French!

Sometimes I felt like if the tests could talk they would say to me:

But I studied with a great deal of ferocity!

I was ranked in the top ten of all biology majors in my graduating class.My parents were so proud!

Especially my dad!

I got my Master’s Degree in education from Converse College.I thought I was so cool!

I worked for five years in a dairy laboratory as a quality control technician.I performed microscopic and biochemical tests.

Then I began teaching as a college adjunct instructor.I love my students!

I teach biology.It is fun to teach adults because they have serious career goals and have many different jobs.

I love to teach them the microscope especially!

I also teach anatomy and physiology.

I recently took the Praxis biology test and scored 186/200.

That’s almost a perfect score!

I received a Certificate of Excellence.

I also scored 175/200 on the Praxis principles of learning and teaching.

I studied very hard for both tests.

I feel almost wizardly!

I had several flagons of pumpkin juice to celebrate, let me tell you!

My hobbies include making jewelry and…

…reading medieval and fantasy novels.

In the recent past, certain economic factors have caused a reduction in college classes and therefore, the need for adjuncts.

I am determined to find gainful employment.

Searching for employment is quite challenging!

My sister and my friends will be so happy when I find a good job.

It’s been a pleasure to participate in the Seasoned Professionals Program.My fellow participants have been wonderful!

And let’s not forget Alice Lang. She’s been a great leader!
