We support for instance the Safe Home for Girls in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Here’s an impression: SHG provides food, shelter and vocational training Safe Home for Girls is a non-partisan, independent and non profit project. It serves as an alternative to safe custody prisons for girls and young women. It is a special project of the Department of Social Services.

Like many other developing countries, Bangladesh is also facing problems like poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, family breakdown, homelessness and unequal and discriminating attitude towards the poor. Because of these difficulties, many girls get into a criminal environment. As legal measures are taken against their delinquency, they often end up in safe custody prisons. Unfortunately, most of them are not criminals, but have been arrested on suspicion of crime. As they are kept in prisons with criminals, these girls are exposed to the detrimental effects of the un wholesome

conditions of jails. SHG is an alternative to safe-custody prisons. The Home provides these girls with a temporary home that separates them from the convicts and disengages them from the problems that have compelled them to leave their own homes in the first place.

The objectives are to:• Construct an infrastructure, which will serve as a safe residential accommodation. • Provide shelter and safety a non jail atmosphere.• Keep the girls protected from the influence of miscreants. • Arrange arbitration and counselling in cases of eloping and kidnapping.• Provide education and skill training that can be useful in their rehabilitation in society.

AppealSHG is committed to rehabilitate young girls and women in the Bangladesh society by providing food, shelter and vocational training. Safe Home for Girls makes a worldwide appeal to all sympathizers, conscientious citizens, philanthropists, government and non-government agencies, to extended financial support to the cause. Must be professionally dry cleaned. The letters contained within the circle and/or a bar beneath the circle will indicate the solvent and the process to be used by the dry cleaner.

We care for the garments we produce. We choose our materials very careful, but you can enjoy your clothing much more by following the instructions in the care label. Here’s some explanation:

Cotton Wash A wash tub without a bar indicates (No Bar) that normal (maximum) washing conditions may be used at the appropriate temperature. Synthetics Wash A single bar beneath the was tub (Single Bar) indicates reduced (medium) washing conditions at the appropriate temperature. Wool Wash A double underline beneath the (Double Underline) washtub indicates much reduced (minimum) washing conditions, and is designed specifically for machine washable woolproducts.

Washing and drying at home, accounts for 75% of the energy used in the lifecycle of a garment, so it is really an area in which you have an impact on the environment.

We recommend that for best cleaning you wash your clothes at the temperature shown on the care label. However, in many cases where a garment really only needs to refreshed rather than cleaned it is ok to wash at 30ºC.

Natural drying on a line or rack etc will reduce the amount of energy used in the aftercare process. However, it is not always practical, especially with Northern European weather, and therefore many people use tumble driers.

As with all domestic machinery buying a dryer that has a good energy rating will help to ensure you are using energy in the most efficient way. Water is a precious commodity. In order to help mini-mize your usage try the following:

* Always wash a full load* Pre-washing is not needed for most garments* If you have a condenser dry reuse the water – it’s great in irons
