Level 3Leisure, Travel and TourismFive GCSEs at grade C or above (may include 1 relevant equivalent) to include English Language or First Language Welsh and Maths or Numeracy.

This is a new and exciting course for September 2020.

It has been developed in partnership with local employers and aims to equip learners with the skills needed for a career in this global industry.

BackgroundAs one of the most popular industries across the globe, employing millions of people worldwide, tourism is an exciting, and rapidly growing sector. The training we have on offer can lead to excellent career opportunities both locally and globally.

FacilitiesLearners will have access to all College facilities including IT suites, and state-of-the-art classrooms. Learners will also be encouraged to access the Employment Bureau to find suitable work placements and part-time employment within the sector to boost their CVs.

Guest LecturesWe work closely with local employers and industry professionals to show learners the full breadth of opportunities available within this global industry. We have strong relationships with local hotels and tourist attractions as well as with the local universities. Throughout the course a variety of trips and visits will be arranged to help learners to identify the strand of leisure, travel and tourism that they would like to pursue as a future career.

Destination TourismIn addition to the main programme learners will follow a destination programme which can include:

• Guest speakers• Workplace visits• Practical experiences• Extended Project which can provide additional UCAS points for

university entry

Levels ExplainedEntry Level and Level 1Our Level 1 and Entry Level courses are suitable for you have few of no formal qualifications. If you don’t get the GCSE grades you had hoped for, then you can start at Entry Level and work your way up.

Level 2Most of our Level 2 courses require you to have GCSE grades at D and some even require you to have achieved C grades in certain subjects. Entry requirements for each course vary so please check the website before applying.

Level 3If you have five GCSEs at grade C or above (some courses may require you to have achieved B grades in certain subjects) you can go straight in at Level 3 (equivalent to studying A-levels).

How to Apply1. Visit our website, select your course and apply online

You’ll need to create and account and this will be used to update you on the progress of your application. If you need any help with your application, please contact our Admissions team: [email protected]

2. InterviewOnce we have received your application we would normally invite you into the College for an interview. Given the current circumstances, you may be invited to a virtual interview instead.

3. OfferIf we are happy with your application and interview we will make you a conditional offer. Your place will be subject to you obtaining the necessary GCSE grades.

4. UpdatesWe’ll send you periodic emails between now and September to let you know we haven’t forgotten about you!

5. EnrolmentYou’ll be invited to an enrolment day in August where we will check your grades and enrol you on your course. If you don’t get your grades, don’t panic, our Advice and Guidance team will work with you to find a suitable alternative.
