The Inverleigh Historical Society was formed in 2004. Ot oper-ates under the auspices of the Inverleigh Mechanics Institute and Public Hall Committee. Our Aims are to collect and preserve items of local historic inter-est and to promote research and interest in local history. We welcome all donations to our collection or the opportunity to copy material. We are most grateful to the many people who have kept the Historical Society in mind as they sorted through their own collec-tions. We undertake many interesting projects and have enjoyable meetings, which you are welcome to attend.

The Progress Association has been actively working towards improving the amenity of Inverleigh for over 40 years. Of course all such organisations need vol-unteers and the Association is no exception. Without them nothing happens. If you have some ideas for the town you would like to achieve, you are welcome join us and help achieve them. Some of the projects completed by the Progress Association include:The Federation Bridge which was built to commemorate the centenary of Federation in 2001.Walking Tracks were established with lots of support from the community, including fencing and tree planting.Public Toilets Progress Association members worked for many years with Council to have the old toilets removed and a new block built, which did not detract from the entrance to our town. They are used more than any other toilets in the Shire. The Clock a new clock was recently installed on the clock tower in our main street, clearly visable from the General Store across the road.

The canola is out and dominating the landscape as you can see from our front cover. Many thanks to Andrea Bolton for her outstanding photo from the Inverleigh area. I have seen people parked on the side of the road, some photographing the canola and even some taking snaps of their family members in the canola. There is a lot on in October and November, especially the 100th Anniversary of the sign-ing of the Armistace. Locally there will be plenty of opportunity to pay your respects around the

11th November with special a service to be held at the Inverleigh Memorials. Also the Commemorative Dinner Dance on the 10th November to celebrate with all attendees encourage to dress for the occasion, in uniform, for example. As a Progress Association, we have been distributing “Welcome Packs” to new residents of Inverleigh. These packs contain a local phone book, a brochure of the local walking tracks and other interests around the town and a copy of the Leigh News. If you are a new resident, ask for a welcome pack at the General Store, and welcome to Inverleigh.

CHRISTMAS HAMPERS Inverleigh’s Christmas Food For Families appeal is under way again, with organisers hoping to build on the suc-cess of last year’s effort. Christmas 2017 was made a little merrier for dozens of battling families who received hampers of food donated by people in Inverleigh, the Leigh Valley, Shelford, Bannock-burn and Teesdale. The Inverleigh-Leigh Valley Lions Club, which in-stigated the appeal, is urging locals to pitch in again to help families who are doing it tough. Collection points are being set up to accept dona-tions of non-perishable food, such as canned foods, cereal, long-life milk, pasta, sauces, rice, tea, coffee, muesli bars etc. All food donated will be handed to two charita-ble organisations, 3216 Connect and Spare Meals Geelong, which play a magnificent role in looking after needy families in the Geelong region. Donations of food are being accepted at the Inver-leigh General Store, the Inverleigh Bakehouse, Inverleigh Primary School and Stockdale and Leggo in Bannockburn, and the Lions club is keen to hear from anyone else who would like to help. Lions club president David Walpole is particularly eager to hear about any struggling households in the Inver-leigh area who need a helping hand at Christmas. He can be contacted on 0429 958 769. “Many families are doing it tough at the moment, and Christmas adds to the pressures on these households,” David said.

“Our objec-tive is to make sure many of these fami-lies have a little extra food on the table to make Christmas a little happier. “The people of this area are noted for their willingness to help those in need, and we are hoping they will join this cause. “All it takes is a little donation of a can of food to make a lot of difference.”

The Inverleigh-Leigh Valley Lions Club has built this picnic shelternear the river in the township for the use of locals and visitors. The project marked the centenary of the Lions Movement.

As the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armi-stice day approaches on November 11th we take a brief look at what was to be the final major conflict of World War 1. The Battle of Amiens was an Allied victory that helped to bring an end to World war 1, following the second battle of Marne, the Allies launched an attack in August 1918 with a force of 75,000 men, more than 500 tanks and nearly 1,000 planes, the offensive achieved huge gains on the first day with the allied troops and tanks advancing 8 miles. Allthough the German resistance stiffened the fight-ing was over after a few days, the battle convinced many in the German high command that victory was unattainable . Following the failure of the 1918 German Spring Offensive and the successful French counter attack on the Marne in July, the Allies turned to their own offensive on August the 8th in the Amiens sector. The Amiens Offensive finally ended Erich Luden-dorffs hopes for further attacks and indeed persuaded Ger-man High Command that the War must be ended. Amiens was therefore a turning point on the West-

ern Front. The Amiens offensive opened at 4.20am on Au-gust the 8th with troops and tanks advancing 8 miles cap-turing 400 guns, and causing 27,000 casualties and capturing 12,000 prisoners. The Australians and Canadians suffered 6,500 casu-alties, the success of the operation was due to suprise, the drive and firepower of the infantry, the large number of tanks and counter battery dominance. The volunteers play a key role in helping CFA to achieve its mission of protecting Victorian lives and property. It’s one of the world’s largest volunteer-based emer-gency services organisations and is committed to providing a mod-ern and effective operation in which the volunteers are valued and respected. And this commitment applies to every CFA station, be it large or small. Volunteering with CFA is not just about firefighting. INVERLEIGH KINDERGARTEN NEWS The children in the four year old kindergarten have had a busy term, the highlights being an excursion to Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre. The children were able to have the opportunity to get hands on, experiencing what it’s like to throw a boomerang, feed a kangaroo and listen to a didgeridoo. Book Week was another fun day with the children dressing up as a character from their favourite book. It was fabulous to see such diversity of characters even the educators enjoyed the chance to dress up!

My dream and baby, Higheight Home & Living is turning 5 years old on Mel-bourne Cup Long Weekend. WOW how time flies! I am overjoyed and so proud by how it has grown to become a part of our wider community. Situated in a quaint Victorian cottage in our beautiful village of Inverleigh, I wanted to showcase my love of home-wares, furniture, gifts and my passion for Interior Styling.

Word of mouth, social media and travellers have recognised that it’s certainly worth a visit to Higheight Home & Living, Inverleigh. We

really have become that destination store and one stop shop. People come from far and wide to purchase the latest on trend and stylish homewares, unique furniture pieces, accessories and gifts. We aim to provide products that range from such styles as contemporary, retro, eclectic, Hampton and French provincial. What our cus-tomers love is that they come for that pleasurable shop-ping experience and then have a bite to eat from one of our local eateries. Our feedback is that ‘they just love it’. From new builds, renovations, or just refreshing your existing space, Higheight Home & Living’s experienced staff can assist you in creating the look for your space. Whether it be in store or at your home.

Higheight Home & Living has access to an extensive range of products from Australian and International suppliers and therefore can help you create that perfect look.

With nearby growing and developing areas such as the Golden Plains, the Surf-coast and the Bellarine Peninsula, it’s nice to see we are having such an impact and influence with styling people’s homes. We want to help you

“Love the Home you Live in”.

Within the five years we have expanded to include an online store, where we are shipping our products all over Australia. It is mind blowing really and you think to yourself how on earth did people find us? Some of the places we are shipping to we have never even heard of before.

We also recognised the upcycle and recycle trend that people are adopting, so we became exclusive stockists of Fusion Mineral Paint and Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint. We now hold regular paint workshops at our local Public Hall. Our customer’s love sharing their DIY projects with us. It’s just lovely and nothing more rewarding to see them transforming their furniture from a pot of paint.

Our newest service is property styling/staging which has come about by real estate agents contacting us personally and asking us to assist their vendors with getting their properties ready for sale. So far we have had a very successful hit rate with properties selling for their asking price and beyond.

With the business growing we have been able to employ local staff members to the team. ‘My Girls’ are nothing but an asset to the business with their expertise, customer service, smiling faces and real connection within the area. I am so very lucky and grateful.

To help celebrate our 5th birthday we will be offering

20% OFF STOREWIDE (excludes paint) over the Melbourne Cup Long Weekend, starting from Friday 2nd November until Monday 5th November. We would love to see you all to help cele-brate this occasion. To connect with us and keep up with the latest on trend designs and new prod-ucts arriving in store. Join our mailing list on www.higheight.com.au, Facebook or Instagram pages. I personally wish to take this oppor-tunity to thank our local community for your continued support. You are allamazing! Lisa x

POLICE REPORT FOR OCTOBER 2018Hello all, After my recent article regarding ongoing incidents involving offenders in the grounds of the Teesdale Primary school, I now have incidents of youths forcing their way in and loitering in the old railway station on Cemetery Road Inverleigh. Some youths around 8 years old were seen pulling panels off the station and then there have been sighting of 3 very different age groups entering and loitering in the station, some have been throwing rocks, loitering on the train line etc. As with my last edition parents in the area please know where your children actually are and what they are doing. I cannot count the amount of times over my career I have had dealings with children and found the parents had no idea where their children were or what they had been up to. Please inform your children that it is not a place to hang around and it was only boarded up by the authorities a little while ago to stop this behaviour. The Winchelsea Road and the Inverleigh-Shelford Roads speed limits have been raised to 100 km/h recently. Even though this has only recently been raised I am already getting people doing 115 to 120 km/h in the areas. Please also note that half of the Inverleigh-Shelford Road covering the bends section is still 80 km/h. We

have had a lot of collisions in this section involving cars and trucks and a motorcycle going too quickly around the bends. I will be vigilantly enforcing this 80 km/h limit. Trail bikes are not permitted on the river trails/tracks and there are council signs stating this. On a Sunday afternoon recently I heard bikes going up and down the tracks (some people mightn’t realise that the police residence backs onto the other side of the river). If anyone is caught they will be prosecuted. A lot of people have put time, effort and materials into the tracks and would not like them being ripped up by trail bikes. Trail bikes are only to be used on private property. To use a motorcycle elsewhere requires registration and a licence and still does not allow the motorcycle to be used in prohibited places like the river track. I really enjoyed the recent Inverleigh food swap gathering and noticed there were lots of people attending. It is a really good place to exchange your extra produce and coming into Summer there should be a lot of variety on offer. People can also usually catch up with me if they have something they want to bring up in a less formal environment.

Keep safe Chris

Leigh News 11

This shows the Inverleigh #2 tanker and crew watching an aircraft about to drop fire retardant at a trial con-ducted a few years ago near Mt Mercer, with the Inverleigh tanker on the ground, monitoring the effectiveness of the retar-dant on a grass fire. Crew member Sue Maguire took the amazing photo which leads us to think about the changes to fire fighting since the commencement of the Inverleigh Bush Fire Brigade in 1932. Pri-or to this, buildings such as the Mechanics Institute (the Hall) had red buckets filled with sand in case of accidents with the lamps. ‘Gateway to the West’ gives this description of the early brigade - “Two 200 gallon tanks fitted with low down pumps were purchased and located at each end of the district, which included Shelford, Teesdale and Wingeel. Later another tank was purchased and located on the Hamil-ton’s property midway between the other two. Farmers supplied trucks to transport (the tanks) to fires. The general public,

the Shires and a member-ship levy of 2/6 (25cents) per member financed the equipment. 1944 saw the advent of the Country Fire Brigade (nowadays CFA) and 1954 a second-hand Bedford truck, tank and pump was located in Inverleigh be-hind the garage, as well as the introduction of a sub base radio. The current shed was built in 1975.

Equipment and safety considerations have changed radically since the time when each farm on the Barunah South Soldier Settlement was given their own knapsack to take to any fire callout, the nearby railway line being notorious for starting fires. The Inverleigh #2 heavy duty tanker is still in use today and was originally purchased by the brigade from local fundraising and government incentives. The Inverleigh #1 tanker is supplied by the CFA. Volunteer members undertake comprehensive train-ing and as a community we are indebted to their efforts. The regular siren call at 7.30pm on a Monday night serves to re-mind us of our responsibilities when living in a fire prone area. But have you thought about the future? Think about it: One hundred years ago, there was no such thing as a smoke alarm (or a carbon monoxide alarm); there were no gas monitors, sprinkler systems, Jaws of Life, portable radios, automatic

shut-off valves, LED lights, electric cord reels, etc. So, considering how far the fire service has come in 100 years, where will technology take it in the next century? What will people reading a similar article be reading in 100 years’ time? It’s dif-ficult to predict but thought is already being given to the following concepts: Since January 2011, Fire Brigades have already introduced a high-tech, re-motely controlled aerial camera called the Cyberquad. This “quadrocopter” is capable of hovering above fires, detecting hotspots and sending real-time images back to a cen-tral control station: A relatively new technique called “Sensor Assisted Fire Fighting” feeds data taken from sensors located in burning buildings into computer models so that rescue ser-vices can predict how fires will spread: There are already robotic devices being test-ed to attack fires remotely. Scientists have developed an “elec-trical wave blaster” that can “bend flames” and suppress or extinguish flames without the use of large amounts of water: Hi tech thermal imaging cameras now allow firefighters to identify “hot spots” and the location of people trapped inside burning structures; andEngineers use corrugated cardboard to produce upward flame spread, which helps them predict how fire spreads in warehous-es: BUT, notwithstanding these developments, the volunteers at Inverleigh remain the front line response.

SHELFORD PRIMARY SCHOOL It’s been another busy term. We have ini-tiated programs in these areas: 7 steps to writing - we have seen a mas-sive increase in students writing capabilities and the students are enjoying the challenge of working through the different components. Targeted spelling- the students are now taking their time and using various rules to de-code their spelling words. Growth mindset- we continue to en-courage our students to embrace challenges. Reading- we continue to focus on read-ing both at school and home which has seen an improvement in the student’s reading abilities. Thank you to the parents and friends of the school for their support and help.

Earth Ed Excursion We had a fantastic excursion to Earth Ed to do their Fossil Hunters program. The program involves the students go-ing on an imaginary fos-sil hunt where they find parts of the skeleton and need to work together to piece the parts together and identify the di-nosaur. The Skeleton Dig part of the program involves digging for the skeleton and dig for the four prehistoric skeletons. Students use real and

copies of Fossil Footprints to interpret how the di-nosaurs moved and behaved. The students really enjoyed the excursion especially being able to use their newly acquired skills as dinosaur detectives.Fundraising We have used some of our fundrais-ing money to redo the line marking on the asphalt and in the garden and the grounds are looking great. We also thank the Bannock-burn Station Cafe and Tees-dale Pharmacy for donating prizes to our Father’s Day raffle.

Shopping Trip On October 13 we have organised a shop-ping trip. If you would like to join us please contact: Rebecca Jenkinson 0417 519 116.

Our school wish to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts at this time.School ConcertWell done to our students for a great performance at our Teesdale Primary School Concert. Thank you to all the parents in provid-ing outstanding costumes for our performers and to the staff for their tireless efforts in helping the students with their rehearsals and lines. A special thank you to Earl Leonard for composing the songs and writing the script. It was a unique concert that taught us about our school values.eSmart Teesdale Primary School participated in National eSmart Week. The aim of the week was to create an Australia that is free from cyber bullying, and to take advantage of the best that technology can offer, whilst being smart, safe and responsible online. During the week, classes participated in a range of different activities on issues of cyber safety bullying and wellbeing online, and offline. Buddies After discussion with staff and our Year 4 students, we have decided to trial a Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 Buddies Program for the remainder of the year. Students in Year 3/4 have been matched with students in Year 1/2, working together on literacy, numeracy or inquiry tasks once a month. We already have a very successful Buddies Program for Prep and Year 5/6 students, so we hope that the students from Year 1-4 will also enjoy helping, supporting and learning from each other as much as the Prep and 5/6 students do. We feel this program will foster a caring and sup-portive environment where students have a sense of belonging and ownership over their school and learning.Athletics Well done to all the students that represented Teesdale Primary School at the Bellarine and Geelong North athletics day. Congratulations to Baxter, Emma, James, Pippa, Lorne, Mitchell, Zoe, Georgia and Brad. You should all be proud of your efforts and achievements. A special thank you to Peta Haberfield for or-ganising the event. 2019 Enrolment Information We are now taking enrolments for next year. For more information or to book an appointment, contact the office during school hours on 5281 5218.Tabloid Sports Day and Hot Dog Lunch Thank you to the Parents’ Club for organising this spe-cial lunch day for our school. The hot dogs were delicious and the children enjoyed coming to school dressed in their favourite sports team colours. Please take the time to join our Teesdale Primary School Parents’ Club Facebook page and stay up to date with events. https://www.facebook.com/groups/355011767931490/

MAYOR MESSAGE – OCTOBER 2018

Council has been paying close attention and listening to our community members’ feedback about their rates notice and we have great empathy for those who are struggling. We Councillors are also ratepayers and active members of the community, we identify closely with the issues we are hearing about.

Council’s approach to setting property rates is part of the adopted budget each year; for the 2018-19 year it can be found on pages 70-73. This Budget went through the standard formal adoption process including the) community submission process (which is a formal statutory process under section 223 of the Local Government Act) therefore rates for the 2018-19 year are fixed. While the 18/19 budget cannot be changed, residents are able to make an objection to their valuation by filling out an objection form (which can be found under ‘forms’ on our About your rates and valuations page).

I can share with you that Council commits to a full and fresh approach to rating distribution as a part of next year’s 2019-20 Budget process and we genuinely encourage residents to get in touch with us to provide their suggestions ahead of the

Budget’s development. While we always have a service review focus, it is getting harder and harder to meet the balance between rates the amount required to meet the community’s expectations on the services Council should deliver within the Budget.

Golden Plains Shire Council fully supports the Municipal Association of Victoria’s efforts in advocating for fairness for local government in the rating system, as our community feedback clearly indicates a desire for real and meaningful change.

Council will also increase its already significant efforts in lobbying, advocating and pushing hard for greatly increased State and Federal funding. Golden Plains sometimes fall through the gap as a rural/residential council with a low revenue base from rates. Our challenge is our fast growing population; our low rate base (low number of rateable properties) is placing significant pressure on Council, and in turn on our residents, as we strive to provide everyone with the necessary services and infrastructure.

Again, I encourage any residents who may be facing difficulty paying their rates, or wish to object to their re-valuation, to contact Customer Service on 5220 7111.

Cr Helena Kirby – Mayor

WALK, RIDE OR SCOOT TO SCHOOL!

Every October, VicHealth’s Walk to School program encourages Victorian Primary School kids to walk, ride or scoot to and from school.

The aim of the program is to encourage students and their families to consider ways they can incorporate walking, riding or scooting to school into their regular routine.

Council will work with local primary schools to deliver a range of activities to encourage more families to walk to school thanks to funding of $10,000 from VicHealth.

Activities include competitions (20 X $50 Rebel sport vouchers up for grabs!), spot prizes, healthy morning teas and the development of safe walking maps.

Walking part way, at home or at school are all options to get involved for those who cannot walk to school.

Find out more by visiting goldenplains.vic.gov.au/residents/my-family/ health-and-wellbeing#Walk.

I can remember back in my Sunday School days we used to sing lots of songs with actions ac-companying them. One of these was “The Wise Man Built His House Upon The Rock” and we’d sing these words ac-companied by vigorous hand movements. The song came from some of the teachings of Jesus and what it was trying to tell us was that we’re to actually do what He has taught us. It’s building not just renting, so to speak. The doing is the key in Jesus’ words. Our house, not the physical construction but our place in life where we live and move and have our being, is to be constructed on this firm rock. And the construction materials will be found as we take up this task. You see, the materials are already at hand. The bedrock is waiting. It hasn’t moved. God hasn’t gone away. We may lose sight of God, but God doesn’t lose sight of us. The rock remains. Without the consisten-cy which the rock provides, science and technology would not be able to function. Sadly, many live as if there was no divine rock on which to build their lives, and don’t take up the specific building materials that Christ has made avail-able. Many put their trust in the shifting sands, the changing goals and fashions of the world and their possessions. Many people have been fooled. We have been seduced onto a path which leads to a profound, ach-ing emptiness in the core of one’s being. Without the rock of God, nothing we try to build will be truly attractive, nor will it stand in the day of testing. The rock that is God, remains as the only se-cure foundation in the whole universe. And the teach-ing and ways of Jesus, summed up by the superiority of love, are the only materials for the construction for a life which will never crack, splinter, rot, or get blown away in the storm. Paradoxically most people are looking for such a foundation for their lives. Sadly, most people look for such a foundation on all the wrong places. You never know! Perhaps today or tomorrow someone might cross your path who needs to hear about such a foundation for their life. And suddenly

the words of that Sunday School song stop being a chil-dren’s song and instead become a powerful tool to allow people to live their lives fully and productively. These are the original words from Mathew’s gospel. “Everyone who hears my words and does them, will be like the wise man who built his house upon the rock. And the rain pelted own, the floods rose, the wind blew a gale and beat upon that house, but it did not fall; because it had been built on the rock.” As Bob the Builder used to sing, “We can fix it”, and we can! All we need is there. We just need to start.

Tips for Spring With the warmer weather comes fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. Ensure your pets parasite control is up to date. Preventing fleas from becom-ing a problem is far easier than dealing with a flea infestation.

34 Leigh News

Pippa and the Zipper Meet ‘Pippa’, and adorable 10 week old French Bulldog puppy who came into the clinic as she was not her usual self. Pippa had vomited, didn’t want to eat and had passed some dark faeces. She was lethargic and not a happy playful pup. On clinical examination Dr. George noted that her gums were pale and she was very flat. Blood testing confirmed his suspicion of anaemia (a low red blood cell count) and given her dark faeces the main

concern was she may be losing blood along her intestinal tract. Dark faeces is known medically as melena and indicates the pas-sage of digested blood through the intestinal tract. Being a pup-py,the primary concern for Pippa was a high worm burden that was making her anaemic, causing damage along her intestinal wall and making her feel miserable. The good news was her body was having a ‘regenerative anaemic’ response, which means her body was releasing new red blood cells into her system to try and combat the anaemia. A radiograph was also taken of Pippa’s abdomen as on pal-pation she was a little tender. This radigraph revealed that she had a foreign body in her stomach! This made it clear that little Pippa had eaten something she shouldn’t and it was making her very unwell., causing her to vomit and making her inappetent. It didn’t however, explain her anaemia. Pippa went to surgery and part of a zipper from a jacket was removed from her stomach!! The finding of the zipper also helped to explain more of the symptoms she was displaying. Zippers on jackets and pants often contain or are coated in zinc. The acidic environment within the stomach promotes leach-ing of zinc from the object. The zinc is then absorbed into the bloodstream through the gut wall. Zinc also causes a phenomenon on red cells known as Heinz Body Anaemia. Oxidation occurs to the cells membrane, these affected cells are then marked for de-struction by the body. This condition is also known as Haemolytic Anaemia and was the cause of Pippa’s anaemia. This would have become progressively worse if the zipper had not been found!

Keep pets away from mulch, weed killer and snail bait. Spring is the begining of mating season for cats. Entire animals are more likely to roam and get into fights. Laminitis most com-monly affects overweight po-nies grazing on lush pastures during spring.

The ZIPPER Zinc can also cause local gastrointestinal irri-tation due to its rapid absorption and can spread to nearly all organs in the body. If left undiagnosed it can go on to cause serious multiple organ failure. Because of this risk, despite the zipper being re-moved, Pippa stayed in hospital for nearly a week on intravenous fluid therapy, regular medications and

regular monitoring of her anaemia level to ensure she made a complete recovery. Common zinc sources around the home for you to look out for include: bat-teries, board game pieces, zinc containing creams, jewellery, screws and nuts on pet carriers or for the avid coin collector - the USA Lincoln penny! Pippa came back recently for an-other check up and Dr. Kelly confirmed her anaemia had resolved, she was bright, happy and acting like a normal puppy again. But Pippa didn’t get to leave with-out a cuddle!

We commenced our season on the 10th September with the Hamilton Highway

Challenge. A competition between Derrinallum, Lismore, Cressy and ourselves. We headed to Derrinallum for the inaugural challenge. The weather was not the best, bit overcast and cool but it was a fun day with three games of eight ends played and a magnificent lunch provided by the Derrinallum club. At the end of the day Inverleigh came out on top with 218 points and winning the shield. We are all looking forward to this becoming an annual event.

Inverleigh Lawn Bowls Club News

We held our 2 day coaching clinic

for our local school children. Several of our club members volunteered their time on the 25th and 26th September to pass on the finer points of lawn bowls. The two days were well attended with 28 children from 14 different families from around the area. The children were broken down into two groups over 11’s under and 10 and under. Day one was all about the skills and then day 2 was a small competition. There was a real happy environment and a very enjoyable time was had

by all, including our members. Due to the success of these days the club will look at running some more in the future.

Don’t forget we have our ‘Bowling with Babies’ program kicking off on

Thursday 11 October 2018

at the Inverleigh Bowls Club from 10am-12pm. Cost is $2 We are planning to meet for a catch up and bowl every Thursday for 4 weeks with the possibility to continue if everyone enjoys it. We know that there are lots of babies in the Inverleigh and surrounding areas with our local community growing all the time. Please consider coming down to the club to give this a try, who knows, you may even discover a new talent and a new friend! Lawn bowls is a sport suitable for all ages and abilities. Please get in touch with Suzy Coleman for more info on 0431 080 977 or like our Facebook page, Inverleigh Bowls Club where further information will be available soon.
