Our courses will help you develop skills and confidence, whether you want to work within the hospitality industry, the Care sector, explore your management skills or become a fitness instructor.

For some of our courses you will be able to enrol immediately over the telephone or by post, for others you may need to attend an interview. Further details on how to enrol are listed against each course within this guide.

You can also visit the Information Centres at our three campuses for more details or to enrol.

We are open five days per week, Monday to Thursday 8.15am to 6.30pm and Friday 8.15am to 5pm (please note, these timings are subject to change).

FeesWhat fees will I have to pay?You will be required to pay the fees quoted in this booklet when you enrol and this will secure your place on the course. There may be other fees payable such as materials required to do the course, appropriate work wear, equipment or trips.

You will not be charged tuition fees if you are a home learner aged between 16 to 18 on 31 August 2013. Some of our courses do not qualify for a fee reduction, regardless of your status as a learner and the full price must be paid.

Payment ConcessionsFor courses with payment concessions if you are in the following categories (evidence of benefits is required).• In receipt of Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA).• In receipt of Employment and Support Allowance

(ESA), Work Related Action Group (WRAG).• Unemployed in receipt of other active state benefit.• Aged 16 to 18 on 31 August 2013.• Aged 19 to 23 on 31 August 2013, on a first full level 2 programme.• Aged 19 to 23 on 31 August 2013, on a first

full level 3 programme.• Aged 24 or over on 31 August 2013, on a first full level 2 programme.

For people aged 24 and over on 31 August 2013, on a full level 3 or 4 programme, government funding has changed. For more information please see page 18 on 24+ Advanced Learning Loans.

How do I pay?By cash, cheque, credit or debit card. You must pay when you enrol, so please bring one of these payment methods with you.

How do I pay in instalments?If your course fees are between £150 and £894, you can pay in three equal monthly instalments. If the fees are £895 or greater, you can pay in up to ten equal monthly instalments. The number of instalments is subject to the length of your chosen course, with the final payment being made one month before the end of the course. The first instalment must be paid at enrolment with subsequent instalments paid by Direct Debit or post dated cheques. For more information please call 0116 224 2240.

RefundsYou will automatically be refunded if we cancel your course. We will consider refunds for learners who choose to leave their course due to exceptional circumstances, subject to a £20 administration charge.

24+ Advanced Learning Loans24+ Advanced Learning Loans help you cover the course fees for courses and training at level 3 and 4, eg A levels, Access to Higher Education courses and level 3 and 4 Certificates and Diplomas.

The loan is available irrespective of your employment status and will not be means tested or subject to credit checks. You must be aged 24 or above and a resident in the UK for the last three years. Terms and conditions apply.

How will the loan work?They work in a similar way to the Higher Education student loans systems and you can apply through the student loans company. The payment for the course fees are made from the student loans company directly to the College.

How do I apply for an 24+ Advanced Learning Loans?Step 1: Apply for your chosen course direct to Leicester College.Step 2: If your application is successful, you will be sent a letter which includes the details of how to apply for the loan. Step 3: You will need to complete an online or paper based loan application form.

How much will the loans be for?For all eligible courses except apprenticeships the loan will be up to the 100% of the cost of the training including course and material fees.

What will I have to repay and when?There are no repayments until the course is completed and you are earning £21,000 or more. Repayments, of 9% of your salary above £21,000, will be automatically deducted from your earnings through the tax system.
