Deragonwillservesas theMountainHawks’goaliecoordinatorandassistantdefensivecoordinator. “WeareexcitedtowelcomeJacktotheLehighLacrossefamily,”saidCasseseatthetimeofhishire.“HeisaPennsylvanianative(UpperDublinHighSchool)whohadan impressivecollegiatecareerasagoaltenderatIthacaCollege,whichisaverywell-respectedprogramamongsttheentirecollegelacrosseworldunderHallofFameCoachJeffLong.Jackalsohastwoyearsofcoachingexperienceunderhisbeltwhileworkingwithandlearning fromCoachEricSeidemanatMountSaintMaryCollege. Lehigh’s leading scorer,Tommy Schelling,washeldpoint-less inthefirsthalf,butstillfinishedwiththreegoalsandanassistforhisthirdhat trick infourgames. TheMountainHawksscored10second-halfgoals, seven in the fourthquarter.Lastseason,LehightrailedNavy5-4atthehalf,butwentontowin15-8.Ayearlater,theMountainHawksandMidshipmenweretied4-4beforeLehighsurgedtovictory.
