CONTRAST ESSAY

All disasters are put into two main categories: natural and

human-made. According to RestoreYourEconomy.org, natural

disasters include droughts, earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, wildfire,

sinkholes, blizzards, hail, agricultural pests, diseases and hurricanes.

Human-made disasters include power blackouts, hazardous material

spills, explosions, chemical or biological attacks, nuclear blasts and

radiological emergencies.

I would like to choose 2 my favourite films to contrast the

differences which were related about disaster, 2012 and Iron Man 3.

“2012’’ was released in 2009, directed by American Science Fiction

Adventure Film and co-written by Roland Emmerich. In this film is

talking about doomsday, the end of the world by natural disasters.

Many of human trusted doomsday will happen in the real world

after watched this awesome movie. “Iron man 3” directed by Shane

black. “Iron man 3” is a superhero film featuring the marvel comics.

This film has a superhero which call Iron Man. Almost everyone in

the film adored him because he saved people from murder, make

the world peace.

Now let’s carry on to our topic, contrast the differences between

these two movies I found amazing. First, I would like to contrast the

type of disaster. For those who been watched this movie will be

aware obviously that ‘’2012’’ is natural disaster and ‘’Ironman 3’’ is

human-made disaster. There are many kinds of natural disaster

happened in film ‘’2012’’. For example, earthquakes and volcanos

happened in United State, tsunami was encounter in the whole

world. Humans, animals, houses, buildings, everything were

destroyed or dead because of the natural disasters. For ‘’Iron man

3’’, there are many human-made disasters. For instance, terrorism.

Tony’s mansion was destroyed by the terrorists with missiles. Luckily

no one was dead in the battle.

Secondly, I would like to contrast the area affected by disaster.

In 2012 film, natural disasters were happened in every country of the

world such as China, Australia, Indian, and so on. In the early in film,

the temperature of the world is getting higher and higher but no one

was worried and take action about it. Actually this is a sign that our

world was sick badly. In a few year time, the world was dead and

doomsday happened. The natural disasters happen in any corner in

our world. It also can describe on human like a man who was been

infected by heart disease but does not take any treatment and finally

he was dead because of his heart disease. The Iron man 3 film which

are human-disasters was just happened in a country, United stated.

The bad guy in movie was created a drug which can make a big

explosion in human body. After injected the drug inside human

body, it will be explode as suicide. The first human-disaster

happened in the movie was at Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Many

people injured by the explosion especially Happy who is Iron Man,

Tony’s assistant. Happy was coma for few month.

In addition, the number of victims damaged between these

two films are not equal. In the film 2012 show that every human of

the world are victims even president. Many people was dead

because of earthquake, tornado, the incredible explosion of volcano

and the mega tsunami which can wave over Mount Everest. There

are also some victims are alive who success to ride the special boats

made by iron. Iron man 3 just got a few victims. The favourite part

of the movie that related to disaster is iron man tried to save

president and some victims from the exploded plane. The plane

exploded because the bad guy who call Savin blow a hole by using

his superpower at the airliner body and the survivors fall out. Iron

man kills Savin and manages to rescue the falling people.

Lastly, there are no battle in the film 2012. In this film, humans

have no choice to survivor, all they can do is just run. The only way to

survivor is ride the special boats which need billion-billion of money

to buy a ticket. After the waters from the tsunami recede, the arks

travel to the Cape of Good hope in South Africa where the

Drakenberg Mountains have risen in relation to sea level and

become the tallest mountain range of earth. In the film Iron Man 3 ,

there are full of battles in this movie. Iron man fights with enemies

to save his lover, who call Pepper. Finally, he successful to save her

and Pepper shows up with Extremis powers and finishes all the

weakened Aldrich.

In a nutshell, both of the movie are very meaningful and ethical.

Two of the movie give out some moral value : Always treasure the

people who loving you because we don’t know what will happen

tomorrow. No matter what happen, human should always stay

together and face the problem. Whoever have not watch both of the

movie, should go watch it. Besides that, in the film ‘’2012’’ also show

us what will be happen in the future if we do not protect our natural

environment. Eventually, this movie is trying to tell human that we

need to protect and love natural environment, avoid from pollution

to prevent doomsday happen. Whoever have not watch both of the

movie, should go watch it. Love our country, love our natural, and

love our family.
