COURSE FEESAdult Education course fees are stated with the course details. There are a number of different ways for fees to be paid:
1. Funding2. Advanced Learner Loan3. Instalment plan
Here is a summary of the options. Full details are available on our website www.leedscitycollege.ac.uk/feesandfinance or you can call our team who will advise whether you are eligible and how to apply.
Funding You may qualify for funding to help you pay for your course. Fees may be waived due to personal circumstances and if you’re in receipt of certain benefits. Contact us for more info 0113 386 1997.
Advanced Learner LoansDo you want to learn new skills to advance in your career or get the job you’ve always wanted? Perhaps you have decided to go to University or maybe you just want to make a new start.
If you’re over 19 and interested in a further education course you can apply for a 19+ loan right away. For more information check out www.leedscitycollege.ac.uk/feesandfinance
What is an Advanced Learner Loan? If you’re planning to study a course at Level 3 to 6, including A Levels, Access to HE Diplomas and professional qualifications, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. The Advanced Learner Loan is a government loan that could help you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be by providing financial support whilst you study.
Who can apply? You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of a course at a college if you are:
• Aged 19 and over
• A resident in the UK
• Accepted onto an eligible course at Level 3 or above
How much can I borrow? The minimum you can borrow is £300 and the maximum depends on the fees for your course.
When can I apply? Once your offer has been confirmed and you receive the ‘learning and funding information’ letter from college, you can register and apply for the loan online. You need to have an ‘approved’ Advanced Learner Loan in place before enrolling on your course, if you don’t you will need to discuss your options with us at enrolment.
4 [email protected] | 0113 386 1997
When do I need to pay it back?
You will not need to pay your loan back until:
• You have finished your course
• You earn more than £21,000 per annum
• If you get a loan to cover tuition fees for an Access to HE course and go on to successfully complete a course in Higher Education your loan will be written off
Instalment Plan If you don’t have an ‘Approved’ Advanced Learner Loan, or the qualification you are applying for is not eligible, you can pay using an instalment plan
How does the Instalment plan work?
You will pay 25% of your course fee at enrolment and the remainder will be spread between 1 and 6 months depending upon your requirements and the length of the course. All fees must be paid in full 1 month before the end of the course. The minimum course fee eligible for instalments is £100.
Other costs such as childcare and transport could be supported through a bursary scheme. Contact us for more info.
Bursary Scheme Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria may be able to access help with childcare costs, transport, materials or emergencies. For further information on our eligibility please visit www.leedscitycollege.ac.uk/feesandfinance
