Fun with Bots Camp

We have 1 camp left to go this summer with open spots at

Keokuk and Fort Madison. If you are interested in signing up

call the Extension Office today at 319-835-5116. This camp is

open to K-3rd graders. We will learn about coding and play

with different robots. Kids will need to bring a lunch and we

will provide snacks. This is a free event.

Iowa 4-H Camera Corps

Do you like taking pictures? Want to

practice your photography skills,

receiving public recognition and juror

feedback on your work? Then Iowa

Camera Corps is for you. Check out

the link below for more information on how to join.

https://www.extension.iastate.edu/4h/projects/iowa-4-h-

camera-corps

This is a great way to brush up on your photography skills

during the year and see some of your art work displayed to

the public on Facebook. There are different themes every

month that they are asking for pictures from. You submit

your photo and then it is judged and they pick out the top

few to be voted on by the public through Facebook. The

public votes on their favorite photos.

Clover Kid’s Leader Training

We will be hosting a regional training for

Clover Kid Leaders. In this training we will go

over our different programs we have to

offer that you are able to use in your clover

kid meeting. These are usually ready made meetings/

activities. You may only have to provide a couple of differ-

ent extra items that the Extension Office does not have.

The Extension Office has the kits we will cover. Save the

date for August 26th at the Henry County Extension Office.

For more information or to get your name on the list call

the Extension office at 319-835-5116 today. This should be

a fun night.

Looking for Volunteers

Are you interested in helping with the

planning process for the banquet? We

are looking to put together a small com-

mittee of 2-3 adults and 1 4-Her to help

with planning. This would include meal,

awards, etc. You would only give up 2-3

days a year to help out with the plan-

ning. If you are interested call Breana at

the Extension Office today. We are also looking for other com-

mittees to be put together as well, like fundraising, and work-

shops. We are always looking for leader, co-leader and club vol-

unteers as well.

From the Desk of the CYC: It’s August and school will

be starting up again. Wow, did I just say that. It feels as

if school was just let out. Hope everyone had a great

summer and vacation. Happy New school year!! That

means re-enrollment for 4-H will be starting again on

have a chance to visit the state fair. Keep an eye out for

upcoming clinics and workshops. We will be having

some soon. Also, that means banquet is coming up

soon. Award applications will be coming out in Septem-

ber. Start getting your record books finished today.
