The PHF-EL3-L6 low line 3 hour duration emergency lighting single ended inverter is specifically designed to fit in low line and T5 Luminaire profiles and to ensure complete performance compatibility with all types of fluorescent 4 pin lamps and their associated control gear. The inverter employs cathode pre heating and continuous heating to optimise lamp performance. The specified circuit and operation are selected at the time of installation by the method of wiring and connection.

An additional 5th pole HF relay offers built in time delay to ensure the interconnected HF ballast does not see an open circuit condition when the fluorescent lamp is used in the emergency
condition. The deep discharge protection circuit on the battery completely cuts off the battery load when fully discharged. The constant current charger circuit maintains the battery at peak condition to provide 3 hours emergency duration. The changeover operation from mains to emergency operation occurs between 60 and 85% of mains voltage in accordance with BS-EN 61347-2-7.

Philips Emergency Lighting range of batteries are available in both nickel cadmium (NiCd) and nickel metal hydride (NiMH) compositions and in varying configurations to meet the needs of a wide range of luminaire dimensions. The 4Ah capacity of the batteries provides 3 hours duration when used in conjunction with Philips emergency lighting modules. It is recommended by the British Standards that emergency lighting batteries are changed every four years. The NiCd batteries have a temperature limit of 55°C and the NiMH batteries have a temperature limit of 50°C. All the batteries are supplied with an irreversible plug and socket arrangement.

Range Overview
Philips charge indicators are available in two formats. The PHI-EL3-LI has a green lens and is compatible with most of our modules. The PLI-EL3-LI-D is bi colour and would be compatible with the PHL-EL3-D and PHL-EL3-D80 modules. This version is lit green in standard operation and flashes red to indicate a fault. All charge LEDs are supplied with a 500mm lead for connection to the module and a mounting collar. If there is no space to mount the indicator to the body of a luminaire, then the PHI-EL3-SR can be used to recess the indicator into the ceiling adjacent to the fitting.
