    Statutory body established in 1994 Purpose is to develop the construction industry so

    that it can become one of the major contributingsectors of the national economy

    Focuses on contractors, skills, materials andtechnology

    Register contractors, impose and collect levy(0.125% of contract sum for projects >RM500,000)

    Provides training, develop standards, conductR&D and explore foreign markets

    Project developmentprocess covers the stages in theproject life cycle , from inception to construction andhanding-over.

    Three main activities involved:1.Planning and Design:

    (i)Project planning (emphasis on pre-design stageplanning)Between inception feasibility studies stakeholderapprovaldevelopment order(ii) Design
