What is a Wiki?• A wiki is an editable webpage on which you may:
– Embed links and videos– Have text and pictures

Why did we begin this?
• Our individual wikis:– As classroom support– As a way to organize our materials and favourite websites
• Project:– Student lack of facility with computers– Educational institutions moving toward on-line delivery and
technology rich classroom environments– Teaching and Learning Centre at Bow Valley College offered an
upgrade for collaborative learning– Mirrors corporate culture

Web links, images and videos. – Learners use the wiki page as a basis for an oral
presentation on the topic and also showcase their work to the ESL College community at a trade show event at the end of the semester.
