Victim 1• Age = 8 • Gender = female• Location = A. A.• Story= parents died from HIV/AIDS• with minor bite by dog.
Victim 2• Age = 2• Gender = male• Location = A. A.• Story• house maid mother, bitten as he was not
closely supervised • Severe face bite, dog entering house • Died despite treatment
Victim 3
• Age = 15• Gender = female • Location = Sululta• Story• Dog bite, the dog was reported alive while it
was not.
Victim 4
• Age = 35• Gender = female • Location = AA• Story• Minor bite, Traditional treatment, supports
her two university brothers, begging to save her life.
Victim 5
• Age = 5• Gender = Male• Location =AA• Story• He was taking walk with his father bitten by
puppy, • Father neglected the bite only chasing the
puppy
Victim 6
• Age = 18• Gender = male• Location = AA• Story• He have mind problem, then starts sign of the
disease.
Victim 7• Age = 29• Gender = male • Location = OROMIA• Story• He raised the puppy from street and he was
bitten but ignored seeking medical treatment• He was screaming for help

recently and bitten by a dog from neighbor, the dog died but not informed, Not taken treatment

• Age =26• Gender = female • Location = oromia• Story• Pregnant 3months, dog killed, holly water.

• Age = 25• Gender = female • Location =oromia• Story• Bitten at friend house, they killed the dog and
didn’t suspect rabies• The victim was begging to die sooner

• Age = 60• Gender = female • Location = AA• Story• Vaccine at home,
Victim 12
• Age = 9• Gender = male • Location = AA• Story• Face bite, • Took Vaccine on time, but died
Victim 13
• Age = 27• Gender = male • Location = Amhara• Story• Bitten by dog, didn’t take treatment.
Victim 14
• Age = 44• Gender = female • Location = SNNPRS• Story minor wound and traditional treatment, she
was begging for treatment after the onset of the sign.

• Age = 5• Gender = male • Location = AA• Story• hand bite, minor wound, traditional
treatment,
Critical points that needs consideration
• Puppy can be source of rabies• Traditional treatment is NOT solution to
treatment• Keeping dog in house minimize rabies BUT
does NOT mean it is free from rabies.• Minor bite is enough space to virus entrance
to body.• Healed wound does NOT mean virus is NOT
there.
Critical points that needs consideration………
• Vaccinated animals should NOT be considered as free from Rabies.
• If an animal died or disappeared within 10 days after bite one should suspect rabies.
