Making Custom Collages 1. From the File menu choose New then Blank File or cmd/ctrl-n. For this tutorial, I used: Width 9 in, Height 9 in, Resoultion 300 ppi, and Background Contents White. 2. From the File menu, Open all the pictures you want in your collage. The images will appear in your Project Bin. If you do not see your Project Bin, Go to the Window Menu and check Project Bin from the list. 3. From the Toolbox, select the Text tool. 4. In the Options bar select Black for the color, a thick Font from the list of Fonts, and finally change the size of the Font by clicking in the size and typing 536. 5. Click on your canvas (the white part) and type in your favourite number. 6. From the Toolbox, select the Move tool and drag the number to the centre. 7. From the Project Bin, drag one of your pictures on top of your number. 8. From the Layers Palette drag your picture layer above the text layer. 9. Click on the Text layer and at the top of the Layers palette, adjust the opacity to 50%. 10. In the Layers palette, click on the layer with your picture. 11. With the move tool still selected, move your picture to the place you want it to show in the number. 12. Grab one of the corner handles and resize the image to your liking. 13. Click the green check box or the enter/return key when finished. 14. From the project bin, drag the next picture on top of the number. 15. With the move tool still selected, drag the image to your desired location and resize as necessary by dragging one of the corner handles. 16. When finished, click the green check box or tap the enter/return key. Now you need to blend the images. 17. In the Layers palette, click the layer of the picture in which you want to erase some areas.

Making Custom Collages1. From the File menu choose New then Blank File or cmd/ctrl-n.

For this tutorial, I used: Width 9 in, Height 9 in, Resoultion 300 ppi, and Background Contents White.

2. From the File menu, Open all the pictures you want in your collage. The images will appear in your Project Bin.

If you do not see your Project Bin, Go to the Window Menu and check Project Bin from the list.

Now you need to blend the images.17. In the Layers palette, click the layer of the picture in which you want to erase some

areas.18. On the bottom of the Layers palette, click on the Layer Mask icon.19. Click D on the keyboard to set your default colors.20. From the toolbox, select the Paintbrush.21. From the options bar, click on the dropdown box for the brush size and pick a soft

brush.22. Move the cursor to your canvas and adjust the size of your brush by using the [ ]

keys located next to the P on the keyboard or, if you are in a country outside the US, adjust the size in the options bar.

23. Paint the areas you want to erase or make transparent.24. From the Project Bin, drag another picture on top of the number on your canvas.25. From the Toolbox, select the Move tool and place the picture in the desired location.26. Drag one of the corner handles and resize the image to the desired size.27. Click the green check or tap the enter/return key when finished.28. In the Layers palette, click on the layer of the picture you just added.29. Click on the Layer Mask icon.30. From the toolbox, select the paintbrush.31. Paint the areas where you want to erase or make transparent.

32. Repeat the process of dragging the pictures from the Project Bin to the canvas, adjusting the position and size of the image, adding a layer mask and painting away the areas you don’t want.

33. In the Layers palette, click on the Text layer and increase the opacity to 100%.34. Drag the Text layer just above the Background layer and underneath all your

pictures.35. While still in the Layers palette, hold down the alt/opt key and click between the

text layer on the first picture layer.36. Keep clicking between the layers of all the pictures while holding down the

alt/option key.37. If there is any bleeding over on the other number, select that layer and paint with

black on the layer mask until the unwanted stray image disappears.38. Repeat the entire tutorial and add images inside the other number.
