get ready for cyclone season!Scan your important personal documents to a free 4GB USB. Scan, Send, Save.CityLibraries has new scanners in the branches that enable your documents to be quickly and easily scanned. You can then email your documents straight from the scanner, or store to a USB stick.

That way your important documents will be stored in a number of different locations, so that in the event your documents are

destroyed in a cyclone (or other natural disaster) you would have backup copies.

During the month of December, drop in to a CityLibraries branch to receive your free USB and ask a staff member to assist you to Scan, Send, Save!

This is a free service.

MiTownsville WiFi will see high speed public access WiFi, powered by the NBN being delivered as part of the MiTownsville initiative.

This will initially be rolled out through the council libraries and subsequently implemented across other council run community facilities (stadiums, galleries, Riverway, Soundshell).

The first stage of the MiTownsville WiFi will be rolled out in August 2013.

The Summer Reading Club is a free holiday program for children aged 0-16 years, packed full of activities, games, stories and prizes. It is a great way to promote reading as a fun and enjoyable experience.

When children read just five books, they’ll get a free book to take home and receive other incentive prizes for every five books read up to a maximum of 25 books.

The theme for this year’s Summer Reading Club is Investigation. Young people will be encouraged to engage with our libraries to discover and enjoy stories and activities that intrigue, puzzle and provide a sense of suspense and adventure.

The Summer Reading Club is presented by CityLibraries in partnership with the State Library of Queensland, ALIA and sponsored locally by Ferry Property Group.
