1.1 Paddle PaintingNever get stuck up a creek without a paddle again. Use your creativity to design and paint your very own mini canoe paddle. Customize your paddle to fit your style!

1.2 Glass EtchingFrom flea-market finds to dollar store glassware… learn how to transform these items into something special! From monograms to whimsical polka dots, the design possibilities for your own glass mug are endless.

1.3 Stain Glass LoonsGrind and solder away. Explore your creativity all while learning the basics of stained glass artwork. You will create your very own stain glass loon… the unofficial LEAP 2019 mascot! (For Rangers)

1.4 Pajama PantsComfy and cozy… who doesn’t love a great pair of PJ pants? In this session you will trace a pattern and sew your very own funky LEAP PJ bottoms. There will be a variety of materials to choose from. (For Pathfinders and Rangers)

1.5 Modern Geometric PlantersMake an adorable cement geometric planter by mixing concrete and making your own mould. Your planter will be perfect for holding small plants, candles or storing small items like coins or jewelry.

1.6 Macramé JewelryAritzia… Urban Outfitters… they all sell trendy macramé fashion and accessories! Learn how to make your own original necklace, keychain or bag accessory using simple macramé knots.

2.1 Rhythms of the WorldMarch to the beat of your own drum. Learn basic techniques of hand drumming and rhythms that express the primal energy of drumming around the world. All drums and percussion toys will be provided to help everyone experience the magic of drumming!

2.2 Outdoor CookingCome with us on a culinary adventure! Try your hand at cooking delicious desserts all in the great outdoors. Yes you will get to eat them too. Yum!

2.3 #Insta#WorthyTake a shot at wowing the special judges by creating Instagram worthy cupcakes! As a team you will work together to design and decorate cupcakes… will your team’s design be #Insta#Worthy?

2.4 Capturing Camp Stories and PhotosExtra, extra! Read all about it! If you like to share in the daily happenings by writing stories, taking photos, or working on editing and/or layout, then this is the session for you. Come share your creativity and be part of the daily camp news!

2.5 Step it up!From hip hop, flash mobs and Fortnite moves! Come learn all the latest dance moves and grooves. Plan to LEAP into a camp flash mob!

3.0 STEM

3.1 Pots ‘n’ BotsYou’re not mashing, baking or frying this potato in this energizing session! You’ll make a fun little mini robot that motors around on toothbrushes, as well as a totally recycled flashlight. (For Guides)

3.2 Circuits ‘r’ UsHave you ever wondered how flashlights are made? Have you ever tried to solder something? Challenge your inner electrical engineer by creating your own light-up Circuit Bug. Learn how flashlights are made by soldering your own mini flashlight. (For Pathfinders and Rangers)

3.3 Drone Flying 101Join the Canadian Drone Academy as you practice your hand eye coordination, learn to fly through simulators and learn all about the basics of flight safety and the Canadian drone rules and regulations. There may even be a drone race or two! (For Pathfinders and Rangers)

3.4 Zig Zag Escape RoomHave you ever wondered how escape rooms are created and the thought behind how they are designed? Learn how escape rooms are set up, how they develop a theme, choose a series of puzzles/games for the players to solve, use props to embellish the game and build a flow chart for the storyline. If that doesn’t sound fun enough, you will also get an opportunity to try an escape room. (For Rangers)

Note: This program is off-site and will last approximately 3 hours, shortening your free time around lunch or dinner.

Combo Sessions

3.5 Monarch Nation: Supporting Species at RiskWhat is a species at risk? How does a species become “at risk”? Is there anything you can do to help? Explore these questions through a combination of nature exploration, games, art activities and facilitated discussion. Program session material has been prepared by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Note: This session will be held in combination with the Survivor Escape Room.

Survivor Escape RoomYour tribe has been placed on a deserted island and must work as a team to solve puzzles and riddles, while searching for the God of Immunity mask. Beware, not all things are as they seem on the island. Foes can become friends. Who do you trust? Find the God of Immunity mask before time is up!

3.6 It’s SolarizedExplore the Solar surface like you’ve never done before. Look forward to experimenting with various UV detectors, look at the sun clock and create your own portable one! Note: This session will be held in combination with the Survivor Escape Room.

4.1 Project Linus Sometimes sad things happen to kids. The Project Linus provides much loved blankets full of hugs to children going through a crisis in their lives. Make a blanket and help make a child smile.

4.2 Days for GirlsDays for Girls is a global movement that prepares and distributes sustainable menstrual health solutions to girls who would otherwise miss school during their monthly periods. In this session, you will help make kits for girls in this situation.

4.3 Izzy DollHealth Partners International of Canada is a Canadian registered charity dedicated to increasing access to medicine and improving health for the most vulnerable people in the world. Knitters and crocheters across Canada keep Health Partners International of Canada supplied with a very special product for the Humanitarian Medical Kit: the Izzy Doll. Make an Izzy Doll that will be sure to bring happiness to sick children around the world.

4.4 KAIROS Blanket ExerciseThe KAIROS Blanket Exercise is a unique, participatory history lesson. Experience the real history by taking on the roles of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Standing on blankets that represent the land, you’ll walk through pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization and resistance.

4.5 Turtle Island Conservation ProgramThrough program developed by the Toronto Zoo, spend time learning about traditional Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee teachings with a focus on turtle and wetland conservation. Be part of preserving traditional knowledge and significant natural landscapes.

4.6 The Table Soup Kitchen FoundationThe Table Soup Kitchen Foundation in Huntsville supports anyone in the community who needs some extra assistance. Help out in the soup kitchen or food bank and make a difference in someone’s day. (For Rangers)

5.0 ACTIVE RECREATION

No session selection required, drop in programming.

5.1 Co-operative Games (Low Ropes)Build your leadership and team player skills on the Low Ropes course. Work together to solve puzzles to achieve several different challenges. Using minimal equipment, teams will work together using a variety of different skills and communication techniques. Can you solve a puzzle without talking?

5.2 Challenge Courses (High Ropes & Climbing Wall)Find your inner monkey as you work as a team, climbing to new heights or if you’d prefer, grabbing a rope and belaying your friends! Teamwork is the name of the game on the ropes course and at the climbing wall. Strategize to find the best route on the climbing wall or test your balance as you cross the traversing elements or practice knots and learn to belay. Challenge yourself with support from friends and staff. Climb on!

5.3 ArcheryReady? Aim? Fire! Challenge your hand/eye coordination on the Archery Range. Using bows and arrows just like our ancestors did, this popular sport will have

you competing with your friends for the coveted BULLSEYE!

5.4 Axe ThrowingHatches are ancient tools, a perfect companion for every woods woman. The hatchet has now evolved to become the tool of choice for athletes. Regular folks who have experienced the thrill of axe throwing, are now hooked and have begun their journey to become pro! In this session, Far Shot Recreation brings not only a coach, but an internationally recognized Axe Throwing Coach. Every participant will be trained and tutored on how to throw a hatchet or tomahawk. Once the training is complete, get ready to compete for an Axe Throw Down you’ve never seen before! (For Pathfinders and Rangers)

5.5 Slack LiningChallenge your sense of balance as you work your way up from shorter to longer lines. Slack lines are not very far off the ground, so a little hop and you are back on earth. The fun is in the challenge to stay on the line and maybe do a trick or two when you get comfortable with it!

5.6 Water PlayLooking to cool off? Don’t want to be too active, but get refreshed? Come prepared to get drenched while playing games with sponges, buckets and of course—water!

5.7 Camping Adventure Escape RoomWhile out for a hike you take shelter in an abandoned cabin, but the door locks behind you! Working together, you will need to solve the puzzles to unlock the door and return to your campsite.

5.8 Bubble Ball GamesBounce! Boing! Bop! Just some of the things you can expect during these high energy games – all while inside a bubble! From traditional games like soccer, to crazy games like Bubble Ball Bowling, the choice is yours. Come out on the field and prepare to get bounced!

6.0 OUT TRIPS

6.1 Adventures for the FearlessAttention adventure seekers! Are you looking for a fun-filled day of heart pumping excitement? Take part in a half day of Treetop courses that enable you to travel from tree to tree along suspended bridges, Tarzan swings, monkey cables and balance logs, each presenting their own set of challenges. If that doesn’t get your heart pumping… try your aim in a fast-paced game of Paintball!

Please note the following requirements, if selecting the Adventures for the Fearless Out Trip:

For Treetop Trekking:• Minimum height to participate is 4’7”

with shoes on• Weight maximum is 250 lbs• Participants must fit the harnesses:

Waist = 45” (max), Thighs = 26” (max). The harnesses must be able to be tightened by at least 1”.

• Ages 9-11 require an adult participating in the activity alongside them at all times with a ratio of 1 adult for every 10 participants. This is the group ratio requirement, which applies to our group booking. Patrol Guiders may be required to climb in order to meet this requirement.

For Paintball:•Participantsmustbe 10 years of age or older

6.2 Try a TripHave you always wanted to try canoe tripping, but not sure what is involved? Here is your opportunity to paddle off the beaten track and live the day as a tripper. You can try your hand at portaging a canoe, learn how to protect your grub from bears and critters and learn about beaver fever. Dip your toes in and catch the tripping bug! (For Pathfinders and Rangers)

6.3 It’s a Pioneer’s Life!Take a journey through time in Muskoka. Live the life of a Muskoka pioneer in the village featuring 18 authentic pioneer buildings. At Muskoka Heritage Place, you will learn all about the pioneer life from chores, making candles and baking to cattail dolls. You will also ride on the open-aired steam powered Portage Flyer Train! (Recommended for Guides)

6.4 Island Cruise AdventureEnjoy a leisurely and fun day on beautiful Georgian Bay aboard the 30,000 Island Cruise! You will cruise to Huckleberry Island where you will have the chance to explore the unique landscape or just spend the day on our own private island. Relax, explore or do both… it is up to you! On the return trip, we will climb the historic Parry Sound fire tower and enjoy an expansive view of beautiful Georgian Bay—we might even spy “our” island.

6.5 Quill Medallions WorkshopAre traditional crafts your cup of tea? Join us to create a beautiful Quilled Medallion. The instructor will share teachings received by her mother and ancestors as we celebrate a long-lived tradition that has been practiced for hundreds of years. Learn about how the natural elements of porcupine quills, bark and leather are harvested and the traditional knowledge that has been passed on through generations.

6.6 Movie Thrills and ChillsHighlands Cinemas is NOT your average movie theatre! We will tour the theatre displays featuring a fascinating array of movie memorabilia with our tour guide. Check out fun mannequins and other movie artifacts, such as historic projectors, before settling in for a private movie presentation.

7.0 WATERFRONT

7.1 LEAP Water ParkJoin us on Doe Lake’s sandy bottom beach for free swim. We will have four different swim sections open of varying depths for all swim comfort levels—from dipping your toes along the shore in our Orange Section, to water over your head in our White Section. We will also have our inflatable water-park available to bounce, climb, slide and swing for a variety of different challenges (PFD’s will be provided for participation). Not into getting wet? We will have sandy activities available or you can sit on the grassy hill and cloud watch!

7.2 Boating FunThree for one! In this session, you will have the opportunity to triple dip in a variety of boating experiences! From Voyageur Canoeing as a team paddling around Doe Lake, in partners as you learn to balance and paddle at the same time on a Stand Up Paddleboard and finally Kayaking where you will try your hand at independent water craft manoeuvering with two blades. (For Guides)

7.3 Hobbie Sailing Learn to sail as a team. Hobbies are a catamaran-style sailboat and a great way to relax with friends and cruise around the lake. (For Pathfinders and Rangers)

7.4 Windsurfing Learn to windsurf! It’s not easy, but it is really fun and rewarding. A guaranteed laugh with a buddy. (For Pathfinders and Rangers)

7.5 Stand Up Paddleboarding and Canoeing In this combo session you will enjoy the great Canadian tradition of paddling a canoe with a friend. Learn about safety and strokes to manoeuver your canoe. Then with a partner, learn to balance and paddle at the same time on a Stand Up Paddleboard. Try some yoga or racing… all sorts of fun is sure to be had. (For Pathfinders and Rangers)
