Rochester’s Leading

Memory Care Residences

Rochester Presbyterian Home is recognized

as a leader in the reform of Elder Care. Our

residences are not institutions, they are homes.

Our culture is guided by Elders rather than

driven by organizational routines. We continue

to pursue dramatic change, not only in the

architectural design, but also in the way of

life within our residences to assure our

Elders experience well-being and live a

joyful, meaningful life.

From the Executive Director The mission of Rochester Presbyterian Home is to provide loving homes for Elders where they are honored and cared for as family and inspired to live life to its fullest. I am proud to say that our commitment to this mission has been unwavering for the past 93 years. Today, we care for more than two-hundred Elders in three Eden Alternative residences.

This past year, guided by the Board of Trustees, we developed a strategic marketing plan for the organization. This led us to implement an extensive research study and brand analysis.

Caring for persons living with dementia has been our primary focus for several years. In 1992, we were the first to offer memory care in an assisted living setting at the Homestead and the first to debut the household model of memory care with the opening of Cottage Grove in 2009 in North Chili. In 2016, we opened our third memory care residence at Creekstone in Fairport.

Over the years, Rochester Presbyterian Home has become synonymous with memory care and has earned a reputation for quality. As registered Eden Alternative residences, we have led the way in transforming and continually improving Elder Care.

As we launch our new logo and brand identity, we convey a mission that comes from the heart. For it is love that is the essence of our identity and provides the foundation to assure our Elders experience a life worth living.

We are truly grateful for all who are part of the Rochester Presbyterian Home family.

Sincerely,

Nancy Smyth

Consistent training, coaching and mentoring form the basis for all of the work we do. Through a $151,000 grant from the Ralph Wilson Jr., Foundation, we have built a unique Caregiver Training model designed to empower our staff and improve the quality of life for our residents. Through this initiative, we will train and certify staff members within our three (3) locations as Memory Care Specialists. These trained staff members will then move on to train the broader community. Once established and proven successful, there is potential for their training model to be replicated throughout Western New York and Southeastern Michigan.

Through this grant, we intend to honor the dedication of employees by providing opportunities to collaborate with one another as they grow in their knowledge and skills to better themselves and ultimately better serve our Elders. This initiative will offer career advancement opportunities for current employees to expand upon their roles and become educators.

We are deeply appreciative for the generous financial commitment from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and for the recognition of Rochester Presbyterian Home’s innovative leadership team as they continue to lead the way in memory care.
