Purchasing & Recycling

As World War II drew to a close, a large number of seagoing vessels were retired from service and slated for dismantling and salvage. Donjon’s Staten Island facility began operations to answer that need, and continues in the business of scrapping barges and other vessels to this day. In 2007 Donjon acquired C&M Metals in Dover, NJ (formerly known as Conca & Maviglia). Donjon offers full-service scrap metal recycling for both homeowners and businesses.

Donjon Recycling purchases scrap metal from the general public, corporations, industrial manufacturers, scrap dealers, construction / demolition contractors, auto wreckers, and more. Doing business with Donjon is easy! Our services include:

The scale is how we weigh the scrap coming into the yard, and ultimately your payment. To be paid for your material, you will need to present a driver’s license or a business card. The scales are State certified and routinely calibrated, ensuring customers’ loads are accurately weighed. Our outdoor indicators are clearly visible.

Grading

When you enter the yard you’ll be greeted by a trained staff member to assist you in determining the types of material you have. Once determined, you will be direct-ed to the appropriate area of the yard to dispose of the scrap.

After disposing, you will be paid in cash or check at the pay window.

Mission StatementDonjon Recycling offers a flexible and reliable container service. Serving Northern New Jersey from our Dover facility and the NYC area from our Staten Island facility, Donjon will provide the correct container on the right schedule for your scrap metal.

Containers are available in 10, 20, 30 and 40 yard sizes.We have closed top containers for security and protection.

Containers can be used for:

Settlements

Container Service

Settlements are made on the 15th and last day of each month. A settlement may be made by either cash or check. Checks will be mailed, cash will be waiting in the office for pickup.

Pricing is determined according to the market as well as the type of material in the container.

A settlement may be scheduled before the 15th or last day of the month at your request.
