productive and economically sustainable today there
is a need for the right kind of leadership, with rightthinking.
The demand for leaders may change from era to era
and from culture to culture, but certain fundamental
qualities like optimism, hard work, persuasiveness,the ability to listen, and the strength of character and

A leader should work at strengthening the organization sothat it continues to create leaders who can sustain theorganization in the context of its purpose- its vision andvalues which are its reasons for being.
Todays organizations are needed to build a portfolio offlexible leaders rather than relying on quick-fixsuperheroes.
The portfolio of leaders should collectively have the skillsto lead the organization through different stages. The
ability to build the complementary set of leaders that excelindividually in some areas while collectively delivering onthe specific outcomes needed to accomplish businessstrategy is what differentiates companies that are greatfrom those that are good.
