    New Emerging Philosophy of

Leadership Traditionally people viewed leaders as the few

people who are the most talented, who achieved

success in their organisations and who were

rewarded with positions of responsibility. But thisis not the current scenario.

    Leadership as Relationship revolves

around the idea of a network of fluidrelationships and is built on the concepts ofempowerment, participation, partnership, and service.

A leader should work at strengthening the organization sothat it continues to create leaders who can sustain theorganization in the context of its purpose- its vision andvalues which are its reasons for being.

Todays organizations are needed to build a portfolio offlexible leaders rather than relying on quick-fixsuperheroes.

The portfolio of leaders should collectively have the skillsto lead the organization through different stages. The

ability to build the complementary set of leaders that excelindividually in some areas while collectively delivering onthe specific outcomes needed to accomplish businessstrategy is what differentiates companies that are greatfrom those that are good.
