Today’s inside counsel face a unique set of complex challenges. From balancing the demands and boundaries inherent in the role, to managing the increasing demands, volume, and complexity of their necessary work, today’s leading in-house counsel need the skills of both legal and business leaders. Harvard Law School Executive Education’s Leadership in Corporate Counsel (LCC) program provides in-house counsel with the frameworks, concepts, and tools they need to deliver the results their teams and organizations need.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND LCC participants include senior in-house counsel who currently have, or are going to assume the role of General Counsel or Chief Legal Officer in their corporations, and/or other top level in-house counsel.

Participants each generally have teams of professionals—in particular specialties, functions, practice areas, geographies, divisions, or the entire corporation—reporting to them.

TOPICS EXPLORED LCC relies on relevant case studies and highly interactive sessions to work through key topics such as:• Participants’ need to balance their professional

responsibilities as lawyers with their corporate leadership responsibilities;

• The power of achieving alignment between corporate strategy, functional strategy, organization of the corporate counsel office, and the professionals that make up legal departments;

• The role of in-house counsel during a crisis;• Strategies to add value in transformative corporate

transactions;• The impact on in-house counsel of “disruptive

innovation” and other changes in the global market on the role of in-house counsel.
