LET’S PLAY BALL!The Lexington County BaseballStadium is a state of the artfacility with seating for over3,000 spectators. It will providefans with a pleasant and intimateballpark experience. It willfeature an expanded concourse,bowl seating around 1st and 3rdbase. It will also feature WrigleyField-Style Box seats, lawnseating in the outfield, and an airconditioned hospitality club.

In addition to the partnershipwith the Lexington Blowfish, the

stadium will be available for other uses, including collegiate andhigh school baseball championships, baseball camps,tournaments, concerts and other local special events. TheBaseball Stadium will surely be a hub for entertainment in theMidlands.

Aging DepartmentThe overall goal of the seven Senior Centers of theLexington County Recreation and Aging Commission issummarized in the motto, Privileged Ones GrowingOlder. Recognizing that it is a privilege to grow older, westrive to enhance the lives of the older adults in ourpopulation and to acknowledge and benefit from thenumerous gifts those persons have to offer through theirparticipation in our programs.

Our Senior Centers offer a variety of programs andactivities aimed at enhancing an older adult’s mental andphysical wellness. Anyone who wishes to participate inour programs must be free of conditions requiringpersonal care assistance or personal supervision. Olderadults are welcome to participate in the daily activities atthe Centers. Call your local Center for age requirements,memberships, activity fees and program availability.

Fall Lexington County Lacrosse REGISTRATION: JULY 1- AUGUST 30, 2015.Lexington County Recreation is proud to introduce thesport of Lacrosse to Lexington County! Starting in thefall of 2014, Lexington County will begin forming ourLacrosse team. This team will travel around the stateplaying other recreational teams. Cost: $70/child.Ages: 7-14.

Lexington County Co-ed Kickball LeaguesREGISTRATION: JULY 1- AUGUST 30, 2015. AGES 18+.Come out and enjoy fun and fellowship with friendsand family playing an all time classic game. The leaguewill run on Tuesday/Thursday nights at Pine GroveSports Complex. If you are an individual that wouldlike to be placed with a team or a team looking forsome extra players, call359-4048 ext 240. This is arecreational fun league. Last year during the month of Decemberapproximately 8oo bags of non-perishable food itemswere assembled and distributed to all Meals onWheels participants in Lexington County.As aconsequence of an increased need for nutritionservices, the number of Meals on Wheelsparticipants has increased this year resulting in morebags that will need to be prepared to meet the needsof our clients.

A personalized program for seniors 55+ to enhance muscularstrength, aerobic endurance, flexibility and body composition.Seniors are required to purchase a Wellness Center Membership tothe Leisure Center and a $25 assessment charge for Senior StrengthTraining. The program involves an initial assessment with a trainerto get a baseline for a personal exercise program. After the initialassessment, the participant will meet with the trainer one-on-one foran equipment orientation and training session. Periodic follow-upassessments will be done to track the participant’s progress andupdate his/her exercise program. In addition, the participant canmeet with the trainer for wellness consultations. As a part of theprogram, monthly workshops and health screenings are offered topromote total health and wellness.
