  • ear Friends

First of all we would like to thank you all for appre-

    ciating the new APNI BAAT.

The greatest show on the Earth FIFA 2014 just ended and now its time to enjoy the monsoon with , .

Rain is not only drops of water,It is the love of sky for earth,They never meet each other,But send love this way...Enjoy the love of nature!

This year we are going to cel-ebrate 68th year of Independ-ence. Having said that, we have come a long way. When we think about the times earlier and now, the only thing common is CHANGE. Change is inevitable, but have we really changed. Has the World really changed? Have we really changed for a better world, better living? When we

We Speak.see things around us, what do we see, start-ing early in the morn-ing our first page of daily newspaper is full of crimes and the achievements are somewhere in the pag-

es inside or a very small part of it is covered inside. Why it is so? Why are we so negative? Why cant we highlight the achieve-ments and publish the crimes on 3rd or 4th page of newspaper or in the pages of our lives. Why we ex-

pect others to do everything and keeping our contribution to-tally negative.

Its only us who can make a developing nation to a devel-

oped India. Its time for some self introspection, let us try to contribute in which ever small way we can.

We will also be sharing glimpses of Grand Installation ceremony, grand service activity with our parent Li-ons Club, Intra Club Volleyball Com-petition, Picnic to Janapav.

Happy Reading... Happy Independence Day... See you all next month.

    THE EDITORS

blissful sunday morning of rainy season which was perfect for a picnic to Janapav; birth place of Bhagwaan Parshuraam. The awesome monsoon morning with little rain showers made the ride to Janapaav even more beautiful. The members were all set to have a blast this sunday.

Cars were pooled at Shekhar Central, Palasia and we left for Janapaav at 9.15 AM. With smooth cool breeze blowing we reached Baba Kulfi for

our breakfast in Rau where every member enjoyed the famous Kachori and Kulfi along with Indori Poha, Samosa, Tea and Coffee. After a yummy breakfast we all were all set to enjoy the ride on National Highway no. 3.

The lovely climate made us have another halt at the Pithampur Lake where we all had photo session and played cricket. It was time for some munches and cold drinks along the lake side. The view was fantastic and

mesmerizing which every member was enjoying to the core. The music with the breeze made the hault more beautiful. By 11.30 AM we left for Janapav.

unday is being looked upon as a day where one relaxes throughout the day. But if

you are a Leo, then Sunday for you is a day filled with fun, fellowship, learning and a lot more things. On the 13th of July 2014, Sunday, we witnessed some amazing game of volleyball between the members of the club. For the first time ever in the history of LCIM a total number of 38 members attended a sports event. The momentum for the event

started to build 4 days before the event date.

The members were so excited about the event that each team had their individual logos. The venue for the event was R9 Club, By Pass Road which

was a lush green garden. One cannot imagine for a better venue than this in Indore. The weather throughout

the event was pleasant which complimented the venue.

On reaching the venue, mem-bers were served with tea and famous samosas of MHOW. Before the match started, Leo Vatsal Parikh took the warm

up session of the members and Leo Vikas Behani briefed the members about how to play Volleyball. With the instructions in mind members played many match amongst them-selves. Between the matches mem-bers enjoyed the famous Indori Breakfast of Poha and Jalebi along with Bread Jam and Bread Butter.

The event came to an end with award distribution by IPP Leo Vishal Khasgiwala.Reported by - Leo Aatur Khandelwal

This month is your lucky month. But dont take a risk.

    We may be lying.

    Dont argue with a fool.

    People might not know the

    difference.

If your ears are itching, its not an omen or anything.

Most likely your ears are dirty. Clean them.

Wear your lucky socks to the gym. That hottie you

have been eyeing may just notice you.

    Dont pick up unknown

    numbers on your cell phone.

    It could cause you problems.

And it will also waste your

    time.

Sing a sad song loudly while walking on the road. If others

ask you whats wrong, give them a funny look and

    continue singing.

Your bad temper will get you

a well deserved slap on your

    left cheek. Moisturize your

    cheeks well before going out.

Make a list of all the people you hate. Send them wacky

    messages online.

    Shave your head. This way

    you will save money you

    spend on your hair care

    products.

You need to annoy 3 people this month. Make sure they start swearing the moment

they see you again. Dont blame us in case of a fight.

MYTH The sun is the best way to get vitamin D. Our bodies can produce some vitamin D following exposure to the Suns ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation. However, after a limited amount of sun exposure (approximately five minutes daily at 12 PM in summer), vitamin D production reaches its maximum. Further UV exposure will actually break down vitamin D to inactive compounds! Furthermore, sun exposure increases your risk of skin cancer and accelerated skin aging. The safest way to obtain vitamin D is through diet and supplements.

MYTH You cant get sun damage on a cloudy day.

Just because you cant see your shadow doesnt mean youre safe from the suns damaging rays. Believe it or not, up to 80 percent of the suns UV rays can penetrate through clouds and fog.

    3#

    4#

    MYTH

I use a Sunscreen of SPF 50, so I am all set.

A sunscreens SPF (sun protection factor) indicates that it protects against UVB rays, but you need protection

from both UVB and UVA. For effective protection, apply a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen. Sunscreens with SPFs greater than 50 provide

only a small increase in UVB protection. Rather than looking at a sunscreens SPF, choose a

broad-spectrum sunscreen that will protect you from UVA and UVB rays.

    MYTH

Windows protect us from the suns UV rays.

While glass does block most UVB rays, UVA radiation can get through. Which means that even indoors or in a car with the windows up, you can tan or burn. However,

you can have special window film installed that blocks most UVA radiation as well.

  • crapbooking is a creative hobby!A Holiday Scrapbook is a decorated album that preserves the stories from a vacation and also holds memorabilia (tickets, certificates, letters, etc.). Its re-

ally all about getting a few photos out of shoeboxes and into the album where they can be seen and shared. Best of all, no experience or expertise is requiredits all about cutting and gluing.

Each vacation has its own meaning. If you take some time to identify this youll be able to create a com-plete and cohe-sive story on a single page of your scrapbook for each of your holiday.

Journaling is another important part of your holiday scrapbook. By writing down the date and the location, you will be able to easily recall the day as if it had just occurred. This is especially important if the scrapbook is passed down from one generation to another, because often times later generations either werent old enough to remember the actual event as it took place, or werent even present at that time.

Though holiday scrapbooking can become a big project, it can be a fun one as well. If your children help you put it together, they are more likely to teach their children, and your family scrapbooks can then be enjoyed from one generation to the next.

A holiday scrapbook should tell a story, after all, the holidays are about family, friends, togetherness, and the memories gained through these special times and experiences.

I spend hours on a single layout. I enjoy fussing over it until my creative mind is happy with what it sees! I love color and patterns & mixing and matching

    Scrapbooking Tips

Use your imagination; nothing is wrong in scrapbooking, you learn more with practice.

Dont put too many photos on one page. Three or less is optimal. A smaller number of photos will catch your eye and prevent the sensory overload that accompanies a 12

    photo montage!

Where possible, use acid free paper. As well as lasting longer, it will also prevent your photographs and keepsakes from yellowing over time.

Use ribbons and lots of colors. Try working with a theme.

Scrapbook is a great gift if needed hire a professional for creative ideas and for a perfect look. Nothing beats a personalized gift. Whether its for a friend, a family

member or a special someone, the thoughtfulness behind a handmade gift is priceless.
