    Compatible control thermostats.

The friability determination is a rational evaluation of the general brewing quality of malt. This international approved method refers to the research work of Prof. (honor.) Lucien Chapon. For the determination of the friability immediately after the kilning process. The Friabilimeter separates the malt mechanically in hard and friable (smooth) parts. * fast and easy operation * sturdy construction * simplifies the malt analysis * empirically proven result of brewing value Put 50 g of malt into the sieve drum. The grains are pressed, by means of a rubber roller, against the wire meshes with constant spring pressure.

    Gary 50 spectrophotometer.

The award-winning, budget priced Cary 50 makes it possible for all users to ex-perience the power of a Cary. The innovative design of the Cary 50, which incor-porates a Xenon flash lamp, enables it to offer many advantages over traditional UV-Vis spectrophotometers. The Cary 50 is controlled by the new Cary Win UV software. This Windows based software features a modular design which makes it easy to use. And of course, the Cary 50 can be fitted with the full range of ac-cesories to provide extra capabilities. Cary 50 features include: The maximum scan rate is 24 000 nm per minute. That means you can scan the whole wavelength range of 190-1100 nm in less than 3 seconds. With a data col-lection rate of an impressive 80 points per second you'll have all the information you need about your kinetics assay. The Cary 50 can measure samples up to 3 Abs so you won't have to dilute as often. The Xenon lamp flashes only when ac-quiring a data point, unlike a diode array which exposes the sample to the whole wavelength range with each reading, causing degradation of photosensitive sam-ples. As the Xenon lamp is very intense, the Cary 50 can use a beam splitter with-out the loss in energy causing excessive photometric noise. The beam splitter al-lows simultaneous reference beam correction, so peaks will not shift as the scan speed changes. The Cary 50's super-concentrated beam makes it ideal for fibre optic work. The light beam is narrow and very intense, so even if you are using microcells you will still get excellent noise performance. The Cary 50 is unaf-fected by room light. You can operate with the sample compartment open or closed, you won't notice the difference.

    Centrifuge 5804 R (refrigerated) - 5810 R (refrigerated)

The bench-top centrifuges from Eppendorf are long established and enjoy a popu-larity that grows with every passing year. Thus, it was natural for Eppendorf to take the new technological possibilities into account and subject the popular Cen-trifuges 5804 (refrigerated: 5804 R) and 5810 (refrigerated: 5810 R) to a live-cell treatment. The result is a device with the same chassis, but with a considerably improved control panel and an inner life incorporating state of the art technology. Before we present the proven features together with the innovations on the fol-lowing pages, we would first like to introduce the highlights of the improved gen-eration to experienced 5804 / 5810 users: The now colorful control panel has been considerably improved, so that the input of parameters can be carried out more easily by the user, both in tactile and acous-tic terms. A separate short-spin key was created for faster access to the short run function. The new Primarily for the refrigeration devices, the stand-by key en-ables quickly noticeable energy savings when the centrifuge isn't being used. Ad-ditional functions have been integrated by now also making the "at set rpm" func-tion available to this series of devices: The countdown begins only when the se-lected speed has been reached, which increases the comparability of different cen-trifugation runs for strict protocols. The alarm at the end of the run can also be switched off.

The rapid development in biotechnology requires appliances which can keep pace with it. MEMMERT CO2 incubators had been developed for this purpose and will also meet these standards in future due to a close cooperation with those people working directly in this field. What are the most important advantages of the MEMMERT-CO2-incubators? : electropolished stainless steel interior, inte-grated sterilisation cycle at +160C for two hours (sterilisation - not desinfection or decontamination means that all microogranisms including spores are killed, no sensors, shelves, mountings, etc. have to be removed during the sterilisation cycle, LED-humidity display exactly shows the set and actual humidity inside the chamber, time is money: integrated fault diagnostics for temperature, CO2, hu-midity limit control or resp. humidity control for fast repair, NDIR-CO2 sensor with auto-zeroing which compared to the thermal conductivity sensor has the ad-vantage that immediately after switching on the CO2-incubator the CO2 is relia-bly measured and indicated on the display. TC-sensors require the stabilising of the temperature inside the working chamber, continuous gas supply by integrated automatic gas cylinder change-over (standard), double overheat safety device according to safety standards DIN 12880 adjustable electronic overtemperature controller safety class 3.1 and temperature limiter class 1, GLP-conforming docu-mentation can either be done through printer parallel printer interface or via PC RS 232 alternatively RS 485 including software Celsius 2000 without extra charge both being part of the standard delivery scope, last but not least works ca-libration certificate at 37C also included in standard.

We hereby take the liberty of informing you that we have developed a new labo-ratory shaker specially produced for bitterness analysis. In spite of the nu-merous types of laboratory shakers already existing in the market we have devel-oped anew device as it has turned out that several laboratories have achieved dif-ferent results when using the same test method. The reproduce-ability showed to be poor and the laboratory shakers were rapidly worn. The shaking process has shown to be of great importance and an exact control of shaking motion, speed and time is an absolute necessity A heavy construction with solid ball bearings guaranteing a transmission without play ensures a stable shaking motion and digi-tal/analog electronic operation of the motor is achieved through an accurate and load independent shaking speed. The time is electronically controlled based on the mains frequency.
